By 2006, World Wrestling Entertainment had bought out every major pro wrestling promotion in the United States. However, in late 2010, Vince and Linda McMahon were tragically killed in a plane crash, leaving Stephanie McMahon-Levesque, Shane McMahon, and Paul Levesque (aka Triple H) as the heirs to the only pro wrestling company in the United States. Shane formed his own promotion based out of Las Vegas, Nevada. He called his company Pacific Coast Wrestling. Meanwhile, Stephanie and Triple H had the same idea, based their promotion out of New York City, New York, and called their company Atlantic Coast Wrestling.
I'm sure most of you are wondering..Triple H offscreen? That can be answered. In 2008, Triple H suffered a career-ending injury that nearly shattered his C4 and C5 Vertabrae in his neck. As a result, he had the vertabrae fused, and he retired from professional wrestling with 15 World Championships, refusing to win another one as an homage to his mentor, Ric Flair.
As the roster was divided, Shane McMahon decided that he would pick The Undertaker, John Cena, Chris Jericho, Jeff Hardy, and Randy Orton, among others, to Pacific Coast Wrestling. Stephanie and Triple H took Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, Kurt Angle, Christian, JBL, and Edge, among others, to Atlantic Coast Wrestling.
However, the only one to have major problems with that was John Cena. Cena was burnt out, as he had wrestled 300 days a year since 2003 with no paid vacations. Cena decided to take the Lesnar path, and simply told the three heirs to WWE that he wanted out, and seemingly out of pro wrestling forever. The three respected their decision and released their top seller for the past two years to let Cena recover his broken down body.
So now, in 2012, with both companies thriving and every wrestling fan on the edge of their seats wanting a war between the two..Shane, Stephanie, and Paul gave the fans exactly what they wanted. 2012, with the conspiracies of the end of the world, and conspiracies of Osama wanting to attack America again..is the year that the two major pro wrestling companies in America go to war.
