I was just looking through my WrestleMania XX DVD and watched some parts and others. I thought we could discuss the event on the following topics: -The stage... I believe I read in a special magazine issue before this year's WM that the whole physical technical production of the show was rushed/not according to plans because WWE had less than 24 hours to prep for the show. You could also see the curtain and it looked kind of cheap/half ass. -Non-PG. Self explanatory on so many levels that night. -This was back when Triple H was a badass. I really miss his entrance with the purple/green/pink strobe lights and the "start game" tron. -Undertaker returning was so epic that night. Many thought he would retire before that event. Who would have thought he would contiue to make some of the best matched ever. -Cruiserweights! Back when WWE had a thriving CW division, it was a break from the norm and added a ton of in-ring excitement with high-flying wrestling. -Cena's first title win + too many more to list. Have fun! and discuss.

Why did you move this? WM XX happened in 2004!!! How is that "classic"?

Meh it's not really current. I'd say the last 3 years would be 'current'.
It's classic enough. But yeah, strangely Wrestlemania XX is my favorite wrestlemania. I loved the 2003/2004 time in WWE.

Why did you move this? WM XX happened in 2004!!! How is that "classic"? WF classifies anything older than 2 years to be classic....LOL. loved this event.pity about Lesner vs Goldberg though. Stephanie/Vince should have gave the paying fans what they wanted instead of rearranging this match to humiliate both men.

Really didn't enjoy Wrestlemania 20 all that much outside Benoit/HHH/HBK & Eddie/Angle. Most of the matches felt like they could have happened on Raw and it didn't have a "big" feel to it in my opinion.

Tbh, I kinda like the Lesnar/Goldberg match, ok, its no classic, but still, I liked it. But as a whole, I really didn't like WMXX that much, didn't care for Beniot, Eddie, Angle, so yea, I couldn't give a piss that Beniot and Eddie won and all.

I loved WMXX. Like Joker said though, really feel that they dropped the ball with the Lesnar/Goldberg match.

a good mania, but could have been better. the main event was good, but I didnt think jericho/christian, angle/benoit or of course goldberg/lesnar were as good as they could have been. goldberg vs lesnar pissed me off to a new level.

Guerrero/Angle Match was unbeleivable, Benoit/HBK/HHH match was great to, the ending of Mania XX When Guerrero came out after Benoit won, that made it my favorite WM ever!!

I love the event and every 'Mania that proceeds it has been lackluster in comparison. I can still get chills watching/listening to Paul Bearer coming out and going "Oh yesssssss" as the crowd erupts.

I loved WMXX. Like Joker said though, really feel that they dropped the ball with the Lesnar/Goldberg match. It's not Vince's fault that Lesnar and Goldberg both chose to be unprofessional on their way out.

I actually went to Mania XX. It was very, very good. Some parts more then others. Not one of the greatest, not at all one of the worst.

Wrestlemania XX will always hold a special place in my heart because I attended it. At the time, it was probably about the biggest thing I could ever think of to happen to me. As soon as it was announced, my friend and I began talking to our fathers and stressing how badly we wanted to go. I was only fourteen at the time, and had the option of going on the Heritage Tour or going to Wrestlemania. Naturally, I chose Wrestlemania.
It was surreal being there, knowing I was part of the biggest wrestling event of all time to date. Our seats were about half way up MSG, dead center with the ring, a great view and something that, to this day, I'm still shocked I was able to get on Ticketmaster the morning they went on sale.
It was an incredible night and an amazing experience, but looking back now, the show itself is a bit lackluster to me. The whole thing was so incredibly rushed, having less than a month between No Way Out and Mania to prepare really killed the prep time. Add to that WWE's desire to get everyone on the card, and a lot of the matches just seemed so thrown together.
Eddie and Benoit's moment is still something I can't even describe, though. Even though the moment may be tainted now, at the time, I was blown away by the feeling in that arena when Benoit won the title.

A great event, not the best 'Mania, though still a solid one with great moments throughout, though Ultimo Dragon probably wished for better moments too.

Was a great Mania in my opinion. Lots of great matches, but I thibk that is just had so much star power involved in it good matches or not. It had a who's who of great wrestling stars:
Stone Cold The Rock Ric Flair Triple H Shawn Micheals Mick Foley Undertaker Kurt Angle Chris Benoit Eddie Guerrero Kane Randy Orton
Thats just to name a few.

One of my favorite Mania's off of pure name value & because it was only my second live Mania I got to order on PPV. Both Benoit & Guerrero's matches were truly awesome & it was great to see them both win the ultimate prize.

It's not Vince's fault that Lesnar and Goldberg both chose to be unprofessional on their way out. they(I say they because it was the vile Stephs idea to change things) still should have gave the paying crowd the match that was laid out. it was meant to be an over the top power brawl with power move after power move. Vince is said to be a fan of Goldberg vs Scott Steiner from Fall Brawl 2000(epic match)and this was meant to be similar

I've never heard that about the stage, but looking back now I realise that it was a pretty cheap one.
I own the VHS of the event and was disappointed after watching it live to find that a lot of the PPV was missed out. I really enjoyed the tag title matches, they were fantastic entertainment, back when WWE had tag teams that is.
Christian vs Jericho was another great one. Honestly didn't expect Trish to turn at the end.
Lesnar vs Goldberg was... well it was Lesnar vs Goldberg wasn't it...
Kane vs Taker was good because of the build up and the epic entrance Taker made and the overall nostalgia of Taker being the deadman for the first time in years.
Evolution vs Rock and Sock was badass, just sorry it was the Rock's last real appearance.
The title matches were outstanding.
Big Show vs Cena was a nice opener.
The Cruiserweights were just ... I miss them so much.
The title vs hair match was good too! Shame Molly lost though, I've always been a fan of hers :/

I loved WM XX! Some great moments and classic matches. I was pissed about Lesnar vs. Goldberg. Dammit they could of had such a classic brawl, but instead the fans got ram-shafted you-know-where.
Am I th eonly one who loves when WWE stacks the card with huge matches but with lesser significant matches just to make the card bigger?!
