Ok im going to try to shorten this story to get to the point, but I want to tell most of it so theres a reason why im actually posting it.
Someone on facebook had their status as "John 3:16 <3" My reaction (which I didnt do) was to comment "Austin 3:16 <3" Then I wondered "What does John 3:16 actually say" Entered "John 3:16" into Wiki and read. Then I thought it would be awesome to have a (de)motivational Poster to hang up that defines Austin 3:16 like an actual verse lol. Then for fun, I wanted to see if "Austin 3:16" had its own wiki page, it did not.
However, they quote him on Austin's actual page from his speech from King ot the Ring, and they quote "Austin 3:16 says I just whooped your ass!"
And that sounded weird to me, and looked up the video
1:20
And to me, Austin clearly says "Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!"
Then I Googled the the quote with "whooped", and it found it is the more widley used and accepted quote. I then Googled the quote with "whipped"... and google tried correcting me to use "whooped".
So, I want to ask: What does the quote sound like to everyone? Am I just hearing things?
Also, If you do think he says "whipped", why do you feel "whooped" is the quote that people have corrected him on and accepted? It cant really be a quote if you don't use his actual words..

he definitely says 'whipped' there and as I recall, he basically alternated between whipped and whooped until the phrase 'open a can of whoop ass' became popular.

I agree it is "whipped" ass. However, in the context of a aluminum, it's a can of "whoop" ass.

How can anyone not know what John 3:16 is? Aside from Genesis 1:1 it's the most popular verse in the Bible and is quoted everywhere Anyway, I always think whoop sounds a lot more threatening than whip, simply because I don't want a man to whip me on my bottom.

Oh no please don't think I was trying to sound like a smart arse, I'm just saying that if anyone who hasn't read the Bible was going to know anything from it, it would be either Genesis 1:1 (In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth) or John 3:16 (For God so loved the world he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in His name shall never perish but will have eternal life) simply because they're always quoted in films, books, tv shows etc. Sorry if I came across as being nasty or whatever, I honestly didn't mean to

For the longest time I always thought Austin said he's gonna stomp a mudhole in ya and walk inside. Walk it dry makes so much more sense.

He says "whipped" in that clip, but it was marketed as "whooped!"... As you can see in this WWF officially licensed license plate cover. lol.
