TNA is putting two big storylines into play at Thursday's "Whole F'n Show" iMPACT! special. One is an EV2.0 vs. TNA feud and the other involves the TNA World Title.
TNA is planning to carry out the ECW vs. TNA feud to Bound for Glory in October. TNA management is reportedly very happy with the ECW feel right now and one of the main reasons are the strong reactions in the Impact Zone during the Hardcore Justice PPV.
The other main storyline will revolve around TNA stripping Rob Van Dam of the TNA World Title. TNA will be setting up a tournament leading to the No Surrender PPV in September to crown a new champion. The storyline explanation will be that Abyss took out RVD, who will be "too injured" to continue as champion, leading to TNA stripping him of the title. The angle is expected to play out at the end of Thursday's iMPACT!.
TNA tapes the Thursday, August 19 episode of iMPACT! tonight in Orlando. The tournament will begin as follow up on RVD's injury angle. --------------------
As noted earlier here on the website, a big angle is planned for tonight's TNA iMPACT! tapings in Orlando set to air next Thursday. The angle will involve Rob Van Dam having to vacate the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and a tournament will take place to crown a new champion. The tournament is set to begin at tonight's tapings and carry over into next month's No Surrender PPV on September 5. The belief at this point is that the storyline involving RVD vacating the title is due to his character suffering injuries from the big beatdown angle that airs this Thursday on Spike.
Kurt Angle vs. Douglas Williams is rumored as a match in the tournament

I'm not trying to be a douche or anything, but I think this is the first time I've seen you disagree with a decision made by TNA, anyways no biggie. WHY THE WOULD THEY STRIP RVD OF THE TITLE, meh whatever aslong as Angle is the one who wins the tournament then I'm fine.

Which is puzzling, considering he is scheduled for Wilkes-Barre, Philly and Rahway house shows. Sure, they could take him off. However, he has a scheduled autograph appearance in the same area the day of Rahway.

I don't want to insult anyone's opinion by making it seem like it's the worst idea ever, since I'm sure someone will eat me alive for not liking the idea of having to sit through it at BFG. Oh... ECW being beaten down by Fourtune (you know those young guys) mean you would have lost your house had anyone taken the bet.

I have a question. Why would there be a tournament if there's a ranking system. Surely #2 would be handed the belt or they'd have #2 and #3 battle it out for the title.

I think was a month or two ago. 2) Randy Orton is the 2nd biggest face on Raw, facing one of the top heels one of the big WWE pay per views. Logically, it makes sense. 3) Get that stick out of your ass. EDIT: Not to mention, winning NXT wouldn't mean an immediate match for the title. Seeing as it's just a "future title shot" does not mean "gets the title shot now" Why are you such an annoying TNA sheep? At least SG isn't a die hard WWE hater.

He should make up his mind if he really wants to keep wrestling or not, he shouldn't be jerking TNA around.

They would have to re-announce the ranking system anyways since they refresh it once a month. Plus, that would give us Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Anderson apparently because they can lose at a pay-per-view and never fall, yet AJ Styles falls when he wins at a PPV.
