Yeah keep all your anis in one thread if your doing a lot at a time, ani is what I'd expect from a new person. Work on moving every joint in every frame - the sooner you start doing this the sooner you'll get better, also use more frames but make sure their spaced out so each part looks something like this:

-=How much you move the stick.
Obviously it'll take you awhile to get spacing down but once you do your animation will become better.
