I never had that happen but I did have a cashier ask me how old my son was because she was assuming that I was buying them for my child. I did not want to get into it so I said 4 and left.

If you didn't care then you wouldn't respond to it. show them it doesn’t affect you by joking back, or simply answering yes. I wasn't really talking about you, it was more of a general statement. Should have been more clear about that. And this part I agree with. But half of the stuff in this thread is straight up intellectually- disabled. People need to learn to pick their battles and show some maturity. Insulting someones job or making borderline sexually harassing comments at her? That makes you no better than her, in fact it probably makes you worse.

Sorry but where I come from, when someone completely degrades you for no reason in front of several people, you don't tuck your sack away, give a weak smile, and stroll off, you stick up for yourself.

Telling a manager doesnt do anything. Chances are they're as low class as the rest of the people that work in crappy retail stores. You should just walk in every day until you see her, get her name and then call corporate. THAT teaches people lessons. You obviously didn't read the whole thread. So I'll refer you to this. For the record not everyone who works in retail stores are low class face. I'll chime in as I work at K-Mart. Right now K-Mart is trying to slowly reinvent their image through remodeling stores, customer service, etc.... Call and speak to the store manger. Trust me they don't tolerate rudeness any longer. Several people that worked with me have been let go for treating customers poorly. They'll get at the very least wrote up, and 3 writes ups you're gone no question asked, or grounds for termination. If you get no where talking to the store manger, ask for their name as well and ask for the district manger's name and contact info. Trust me the district mangers bring the hammer down swiftly when it comes to complaints.

just say "I wonder what has more plastic....this figure or you." naw thats too cruel well if she works at Kmart she probably couldn't afford implants lol, I'd call the manager for starters and if they do nothing or make it worse then call corporate and tell them what happened and it also wouldn't hurt to tell everyone you know about your bad experience there so they don't shop there anymore so they lose business because word of mouth can get out fast

It's never happened to me. If it did when I was a kid, though, my Mom probably would have bitched at then Puched the Cahier who made the remark.
Personally, I like the idea of it being for a sick family member in the Hospital, as someone suggested in this Thread, but if I was on the spot without knowing of this Thread, I'd probably just go with I collect them, as I do, and play/Pic Fed with them.
Getting the Manager would probably be your best choice overall, but like I said, if you want to throw it back at her, make the "It's for my sick Nephew in the Hospital, it's a gift for when he gets out" comment.

Well when you make $5.00 an hour and half of your check you blow it in the lunchroom. I would be rude to.

I would have replied, "Yes I do, and judging by how you look you probably use toys too cause I doubt anyone would play with you..." "Except maybe this guy < point to the guy laughing behind you> ... nah... he's laughing at you too!" Good times. exactly what i was going to say just now, but you said it even better

But don't boycott Target for what they have done.

To make a long story short I drive to my local K-mart to buy Elite Christian. As I proceed to checkout the girl at the cash register who is around my age (20ish) looks at my purchase as she rings it up and in jerk fashion asked "You still play with toys?" When she said that my heart almost sank. There were two other people behind me and started laughing after she said that. I got so embarassed I started to sweat like a pig. I kindly ignored her remark and paid for my item and left. ? You did the right thing. You could have replied, "I don't play with them, I collect them." However, anything more than that-- especially getting defensive-- would have made you seem insecure. Also, to all of you guys who have advocated insulting the cashier because of her job: She might very well be working at K-Mart as a summer job and wouldn't have given a crap about the barb.

Tell her managers. There's no reason you should feel like that as a customer. She was obviously trying to embarrass you. It's none of her business what you do. EXACTLY!!!

In the back of my head, I always think I'll get the dreaded "These aren't for you, are they?" or "Aren't you a little old..." , but really it's only happened once and that was just a kind, old lady joking with me. I always get the friendliest cashier or some zombie that just can't wait for the day to end and mindlessly rings me through as quickly as possible.
But thank goodness WallyWorld has self-checkout counters. Now only if TRU and Target could have them too...

For all the a-holes out there, you do have to remember the good people. I remember when kb toys was still open around here, the girl always use to hold the figs I wanted for me till I got out of work. I didn't even ask her too and sometimes she would not even pack out the box till I went through it. Anyway don't dwell on the dicks
