I noticed on elite 4 and elite 5 that the knee pads have been much softer. Elite 5 especially (My Jack Swagger E5 is perfect with his kneepads)
Its been one of the only things that has annoyed me with Mattels but it seems like they have fixed it.

I never had any problems to begin with, so I never noticed any change.

I never had any problems with the kneepads, it's the elbow pads that gave me the problem. None of my figures with elbow pads could move their arm with an elbow pad on so I've had to take them off.

Never had an issue with the elbow pads, they work pretty well on figures like Cody Rhodes and Christian, Mattel has even used traditional-looking elbow pads like Sgt. Slaughter's and they work fine.
Small knee pads like Randy Ortons and upcoming British Bulldog and Ultimate Warrior work great too. It's the long ones that are on CM Punk and Kofi Kingston that are stiff as hell. But I find Ralph's custom knee pads to work perfectly for those guys.

The issue is that they are using plastic to make the pads instead of a synthetic rubber like Jakks.
I find if you move them around alot they will loosen up a little bit, but they are still very inconvenient

Never thought the elbows were that bad, but I had to replace Elite 4 jericho and kofis knee pads with jakks elbow pads

They seem to me to be less stiff but still not soft enough for good play.
