Last night I saw down and watched my Summerslam 2000 DVD for the first time in ages. Such a fun PPV, I love it. Turns out I completely forgot about the whole Angle/concussion deal, and when it happened I was just kind of like "oh sh*t, I forgot!". I remember I had a question about it back in the day, but never really got it answered. I was wondering, does anyone know how this match was suppose to turn out had Kurt NOT gotten the concussion? It seemed like the backstage segment when Steph got Kurt up off the stretcher and got him to go back out to the ring was meant to happen, as if he was suppose to get taken to the back after the table spot even if he had no been knocked loopy. Does anyone have any info on this?

To the best of my knowledhe something similar was supposed to have happened. I think HHH was going to pedigree him on the floor or on the table. That is the impression I got based on several sources I've read (one being Kurt's book).

Yea, just got this and watched the match on Saturday, great match, and I was actually thinking the same thing, but with how well it layed out I'm guessing that what actually happened was something similar to what was supposed to happen

Yeah I believe the idea was Kurt would get kayfabe injured but he got legit injured.
This was the first PPV the WWF had when I started watching wrestling. God those were good times.

The reason for Kurt Angle's concussion is the fact the table broke early and had little time to react to the spot. In the Triple H "The Game" DVD released in 2002, Triple H recounted that spot and mentioned that Angle suffered a concussion that caused for an on-the-fly rewrite. Everything worked out as it should towards the end of the match.
SummerSlam 2000 is a good show to watch. The TLC match was the main highlight of the PPV. Can't believe its been almost ten years since that event.

I was there with a huge Kurt Angle banner that read "It's True, It's True". Very hard to decipher what was going on while in attendance.
I need to watch this PPV, haven't seen it in years.
