I dont remember this for some reason. What was the storyline behind this? Was he dressing as Dusty on a weekly basis?

Goldust's had more gimmicks than I've had hot dinners.

Its Bruce Pritchard (Brother Love) doing the voice impersonation.

That was when he was The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust and would dress up in weird or random outfits. I recall he dressed up as Sable, Dude Love, and the New Year's Baby in particular.

I'm actually in the process of watching WWF 1998 Raws and just watched him go through all these different gimmicks... He would come out to Raw every week with Luna dressed as somebody different: Sable Dust, Vader Dust, Dusty Dust, Marilyn Manson Dust, New Years Baby Dust, etc...
He finally got rid of 'The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust' gimmick in May of 1998 and started wrestling as Dustin Runnels... Then when he started feuding with Val Venis he came back as the regular Goldust...

Totally don't remember that. I feel like it would go over much better today than it did back then, and would be much more memorable.

Everytime someone gets over with a copycat gimmick, they bury it quickly. Big Show did it. Charlie Haas did it. Dustin did it. Stevie Richards even did it briefly when he played an Acolyte and Dude Love. I love that gimmick, and they never let it reach it's potential.

It was basically a rip off of what the Blue Meanie and Stevie Richards were already doing in ECW at that time.
