Something I found interesting about this PPV...no WWF Title Match was aired, but two dark matches occurred after the Taker/Mankind Main Event (New Rockers v. Godwins and Shawn Michaels v. Goldust)
Does anyone remember why there was no title match? Seems kind of silly to put on a PPV without the title on the line and not even televise your champion. Was Michaels between feuds? He had just finished his feud with Vader after Summerslam and hadn't moved onto Sid yet...what was going on in Oct. of 96?

Like you said, he was between feuds. The Vader/Sid match was a #1 contenders match.

are the dark matches locatable?

You have two ways to go about it; A) you overshadow the massive feud's supposed climax between Mankind/Taker with the WWF Championship against an upper midcarder, or B) you demoralize the WWF Championship by putting it on the undercard.
I think the right decision was made, to be honest.

They were still teasing HBK/Sid so they had Vader/Sid No.1 Contenders match instead of giving Shawn a throwaway title match.

I believe HBK commentated on Vader/Sid. You got it. Still, interesting that he wasn't on the main card. I know there is a video floating out there of him v. Golddust in Montreal in '96 in a ladder match.

I was actually at this event in Indianapolis , I do recall a couple of dark matches, one being Shawn Michaels vs Goldust that I believe ended the night.

Remember, this is back when In Your House events were only 2 hours long.
I was there as well. I remember the 2 dark matches listed above taking place.
Another moment of note about that show: It marked the first PPV match between Stone Cold and Triple H. A rare heel-vs-heel match.
