Okay I just found out that WWE made the best of Starcade dvd and bought it on ebay about 4mins ago.Well this match wasnt on it I dont understand why as well.I just wondered if there was any other WWE WCW made dvds that it would be on is it on the rise and fall of wcw dvd by any chance?

Nah its not on the rise and fall. I'd imagine because Nash is in it or because it really wasnt that good of a match as it highlights the politics big time in WCW.

Kind of sad really. what were the other mainevents that left a bad taste in your mouth? i dont recall them at all Starrcade in the 90s just really struggled all together... 90-Sting vs Black Scorpion (cmon you couldnt give us Flair?) 91-Battlebowl? Enjoyed it but doesnt belong on your big show 92-See above 93-Flair vs Vader (Really a great match to me, event was average) 94-Hogan vs Beefcake....I mean Butcher.....yea 95-Savage vs Flair....Good, not as good as mania 8 96-Hogan vs Piper..........No.....just no 97-Hogan vs Sting........biggest failure in the history of our sport 98-Goldberg vs Nash.......a 5 star classic..........  99-Hart vs Goldberg......Was anyone still watching at this time? 00-Steiner vs Sid....another mat classic....Turner Classic Gem!! |

The only match out of those I really enjoyed was Flair vs Vader..I never really realized how bad the 90's Starcade main events were...Goldberg vs Nash was shit

yeah the Starrcade undercard was always way way better
highlights include
Sting vs Vader-king of the cable tourney final
Magnum TA vs Tully-I quit match
Road Warriors vs Steiners
ah theres too many to mention really

All three main events were just so ridiulously bad, mostly because each had a REALLY ING STUPID ending. 1997 = the most hyped match possibly of all time ends in such a poop fashion. Hogan pins Sting CLEANLY in like ten minutes, and then Bret has to act as if it were a fast count. The match is restarted and Sting wins, making him technically the cheater. -_- 1998 = Slow and plodding match between Nash and Goldberg which ends with Hall using a ing tazer on Goldberg to allow Nash to win. Using a ing cattle prod to win the main event of the biggest show of the year is stupid. And to top it off, this is how Goldberg's streak ended. To a man who didn't need it at all... 1999 = If I remember, the match wasn't too bad. But it went downhill quick. Goldberg's mule kick ended Bret Hart's career. And then they RE-ENACTED THE ING MONTREAL SCREWJOB to end the match!! Seriously?! All 3 main events get a 2/10. Not to mention 1996's non-title match between Piper and Hogan was pretty damn pointless, and bad. But compared to the shenanigans of the following years, it looks like Rock vs. Austin. |

I went to Starrcade 98 in DC........ The crowd was booing goldberg so they turned up the "goldberg" chant via the sound system. when nash came out the crowd cheered and they played "boo" chants LOL

As has been said already, a true shocker in every sense of the word...the other Starrcade events of the '90s were pretty hit and miss affairs as well...the first one will always stand out to me, no question...
