I just said Id bring up Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert because I just watched Muta murder Doug Gilbert and Eddie jumped in the ring afterward.
Gilbert could REALLY go and you gotta figure he would have been useful to McMahon during the Attitude era.
he was also said to have a brilliant mind for booking.
I have fond memories of his feud with Lawler too-those 2 had some great scraps.

He also had some interesting matches with Cactus Jack in the early '90s, and had a great mind for the business. He had an interesting approach to wrestling, and could go.
Would've been great to see how he would've been once ECW was hot.

Hell yes! I remember this like it was yesterday!
He started out as a jobber in the WWF, tag teaming most of the time with Curt Henning. I think the last time I saw him on a WWF program, The Masked Superstar gave him 2 or 3 swinging neck breakers on the concrete. Then he disappeared. (This was way before the internet, obviously). Then (according to The Wrestler & Inside Wrestling magazines) I read that he started a heavy feud with Jerry Lawler in Mid-South. I thought it was remarkable that someone I last saw as a jobber was now getting major pushes somewhere else.
I would have loved to have seen him make a comeback in the WWE, during the attitude Era, preferably teaming with Owen Hart. They would have made an awesome team.
Excellent topic, by the way.

LOVED Hot Stuff. Shame he died so young cause he still had a lot to offer this business.

I loved Eddie. I have fond memories of him from his fued with Lawler. Though, I remember as a young kid I cried the saturday he ran lawler over with his car in the parking lot. Scripted or not that looked brutal in my eyes .

Excellent topic, by the way. I just thought it was time for a Gilbert discussion!!its s apity he passed on beofre ECWtook off(as someone esle mentioned)because he would have been huge during that time IMHO and probably would have ended up in WWF with Vince.
