This is the first Survivor Series that strayed away from the original elimination match format. As a matter of fact, there is only one traditional Survivor Series match-up on this show and boy was it terrible. The tag opener between the Headshrinkers and High Energy was pretty solid. I always liked the Headshrinkers finisher even though all Samu ever did was stand there like a tool as Fatu did all the real work. Tatanka versus The Model was pretty cool, too. I was a big Tatanka fan so watching him totally own Martel during their entire feud made me a happy camper. Doink popping those fans balloons at the end of the match was priceless; further establishing his evil clown/total dickhead character. Of course, the first PPV encounter between Bret and Shawn was the highlight of this PPV. Just an excellent main event match as these two put on a true wrestling classic. It is crazy to think how much different their next Survivor Series showdown would be five years later. Before I forget, one of the greatest wrestling moments of all-time took place at this event in the form of Nailz cutting a promo. "BOSSMANNN!!!... YOU KNOW HOW GOOD OF A CLIMBER I AM!!!" Whatever, Nailz.

G2 he's discussing classic PPV's on the Classic wrestling board. Chill out mate!!!
However Alexxx, perhaps you might want to give us your thoughts on the matches you have watched rather than just list them. I never understood why the EWlimination Gimmick was abandoned as previously I had always loved that aspect of the PPV as like the Royal Rumble it made it so different from everything else.
As for the card, well I remember the undercard being quite poor however Razor/Flair vs. Perfect/ Savage was decent & obviously the stellar main event made the show. Also sticking in my memory was Yoko DESTROYING poor old Virgil!!

Stop clogging up the board with this stupid poop Exactly the point I tried to make when my post got deleted! These are pointless and just clogging up the board. All it's doing is increasing his post count. The coffin match sucked. There, now I added something to the (pointless) thread. Good day.

But he's not posting his thoughts, he's just randomly saying, "I watched these matches".
It would be like me starting a topic in the Lounge called "Toast" and just writing "I ate 3 slices of this great food item this morning." Maybe we should all just start posting random thoughts?
And my original post wasn't disrespectful, all I said was that he was creating numerous posts because he wanted to get attention. Which I still feel he is. Geez, give a guy a little power....

I'm not going to argue this point any further. I was not taking a shot at you as a poster, but just pointing out that stuff like this: dude seriously. You're watching PPVs ok great. You seriously think you need to come here and say You watched __ number of matches from this great PPV??? its not stupid crap to post your thoughts on a classic PPV. what SUPER exciting posts is he stopping us seeing by "clogging"the board with this topic? and deleting posts that you don't agree with comes off as power tripping, the same way the last MOD would lock posts he didn't like or were similar to his. I was in no way attacking another poster, posting any foul language or anything that was really offensive in my original post in the Summerslam 89 thread, so I felt that it was unjust to delete my post since I've been here for a long time, contribute to this section on a semi-regular basis and have seen WAY worse on here that no one takes issue with. I was actually trying to be funny, which is what 90% of this forum is (ie: "Not Sure if Serious", facepalms, etc.) Anyway, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. By the way, I had toast for breakfast.

By the way, I had toast for breakfast. Please further the discussion by informing us what jelly (or jam) was used on the toast. What did you set the toaster at? Did you even use a toaster or was it baked in the oven? Do you use white or wheat bread? Whats your favorite brand of bread?

Personally the way WWE got perfect into the mix actually paid off pretty well - I loved the last minute build up of perfect turning face - all the way throughout the match my mind kept wondering if perfect would attack macho or would he help him succeed....who needs Jim Hellwig??!
