Summerslam 1993
Last night I watched 4 matches from this ok ppv event
Summerslam 93 has always been a letdown to me but I decided to watch it as I have seen it for a long time
The Smoking Gunns & Tatanka vs. The Headshrinkers & Bam Bam Bigelow
The Undertaker vs. Giant Gonzales
Bret Hart vs. Doink
Razor Ramon vs. Million Dollar Ted DiBiase

The match between the Steiners and the Heavenly Bodies was really good. They worked real well together and put on a greatly underappreciated match.
I think the general 'meh' perception of this PPV would be different if Lex won the belt. Months of hype and public appearances and "I'll Be Your Hero" tribute videos and the big payoff comes in the form of a count-out victory?
They may as well have kept the Narcissist around and saved a hell of alot of gas money in the process.

bret hart being thrown into lifeless feuds like that was devestating to me at the time, i remember thinking 'why do i care that he's fighting doink? this is summerslam, why isn't he facing lawlor?'

I hated the matches but The King was gold on the Mic insulting the Harts & building up this feud. As for the show I remember Razor/Dibiase being OK & as already mentioned Bodies/steiners was a strong match. At the time I recall being very excited at the debut of Borga who beat Jannetty in an extended Sq match. The rest of the card though was quite weak. Especially the way Luger celebrates a meaningless Countout win as if he'd won the olympics.

Tbf, Bret and Doink put together a good match anyway, the storyline that night was so fun.
