Welcome to MFWF MMA! MFWF MMA is a fantasy league for the upcoming video game UFC Undisputed 2010 on the Xbox 360. Members of the league will compete in mock Pay-Per-View events to crown champions and contenders, with pride and prizes both on the line! If you are interested in joining MFWF MMA, please read our rules first. And remember- you must be a registered member of either the WrestlingFigs.com or MMAFigs.com forums in order to compete in MFWF MMA.
The Rules of MFWF MMA[/u]
THE GOLDEN RULE OF MFWF MMA: NO ARGUING
If you want to debate something in the league, like an adult, feel free.
If you start an argument and start acting like a child, you get NO warning. If you argue, you will be kicked out of the league immediately.
This league wasn't made for arguing. There is no arguing in this league. Arguing = no. Get it?
THIS LEAGUE IS FOR XBOX 360 USERS ONLY. Sorry for all the PS3 users, but this is something I can’t budge on because I personally ONLY own an Xbox 360. If any PS3 users want to start a league of their own, I wish you all the best of luck.
If you are interested in joining this league, you need to PM ME on either the MF or WF forums. In your PM, you need to state that you are interested, what fighters you want, and YOUR GAMERTAG. PLEASE REMEMBER TO INCLUDE YOUR GAMERTAG.
In choosing the fighters you are interested in, please pick TWO fighters from EACH weight division out of the “FREE AGENTS” list that comprises of all the CURRENTLY AVAILABLE fighters. I will then choose which fighters you will be playing as in a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis. Please note that you can control TWO fighters maximum, and they CAN NOT be in the same weight division. If you are interested in only controlling ONE fighter in the league, remember to SPECIFY THIS in your PM.
AS OF THIS TIME, THE DLC FIGHTERS ARE GAMESTOP-EXCLUSIVE, SO I WON’T BE INCLUDING THEM IN THIS LEAGUE. This MAY change as time goes on, but for now, they are OUT. Sorry to any and all fans of the DLC fighters.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A COMBINED LEAGUE. This league will be comprised of users from both the WrestlingFigs.com and MMAFigs.com message boards.
If someone drops out of the league, and has a fighter you are interested in picking up, PM me and we will discuss it. IF I do allow you to pick up that fighter, and drop your current, ALL records (the fighter you drop and the fighter you pick up) will be re-set to 0-0-0.
Since this is a combined league, here is the way fights are set up. If you would like to fight on an upcoming card, you simply respond to the official thread that will be posted on both the WF and MF message boards and say that you would like to fight on the upcoming pay-per view. Please state that you are interested in fighting someone IN GENERAL, I go into fighting a SPECIFIC person a little later.
When we have enough people to set up a Pay-Per-View (normally comprising of at least five fights), I PERSONALLY will pick who faces who. This is due to the fact that several members may have accounts only on WF or only on MF. If it's a high profile fight, it will make our "Main Card." If it's a fight between two people trying to climb the ladder, it will be considered a "Preliminary fight."
As always, I will include everyone’s gamertag when a PPV is announced to help opponents find each other and agree upon a time to have their fight.
If you would like to set up fights with a SPECIFIC player using the official threads, here is how you would go about doing so.
If you and your opponent have both agreed to fight each other beforehand, you BOTH need to respond in the thread and let me know that you want to fight each other. If you have a specific opponent in mind but they have not agreed to the fight, you can either PM them or throw out a “challenge” in the official threads. Either way, BOTH of you must agree to the fight. Once I APPROVE of the fight, it will be added to the main card.
The reason I personally have to approve of these types of fights is so I can prevent things like a title holder agreeing to challenge his low-ranked friend to a title fight just to slingshot the friend up in the rankings. In that scenario, even if the title holder wins his friend would still leapfrog a lot of competition due to the rankings upgrade that comes with being a title challenger. I want to prevent that and other situations like it from happening. I won’t go around accusing anyone of anything, but steps do need to be taken in order to ensure that this is a fun league for everyone.
After each fight, BOTH combatants will post the result of the fight. This is done in order to ensure that accurate times and winners are noted. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS after you are done fighting. Remember that when posting your result, you should note:
- Who won.
- How you won.
- The round and official time of the fight.
- If the fight ends in a decision, be sure to add if it was unanimous or split.
NEW RULE: When posting the result of your fight, please note when the fight ended and not how much time was left in the round. For example, if you get a 16 second knockout, your post should read something like "X defeated Y via KO at 0:16 of Round 1", and should not look like "X defeated Y with 4:44 left in Round 1". This is done to avoid any confusion that may pop up.
Fights will take place in fantasy PPV events. Each PPV will be a maximum of ONE week long. This means that you have ONE WEEK to meet your opponent on XBL, set up a time for your fight, and then fight your fight. CHAMPIONS will also fight on these PPVs, on the main card of course. There will be at least one title fight on each PPV, if not more. Going by the rankings, I will set up title fights. This is more or less where a champion "has to" fight. Since you are given one week, I'm sure you can get that fight in. IF YOU CAN NOT make that fight, please let me know as soon as you possibly can. I can scratch that fight. I understand people are busy and people may not be able to set up a match with their opponent. I don't want anyone to feel forced, that's why I'm giving everyone ONE week for a pay-per view. If a PPV ends early, we will set another one up ASAP.
If a fight is agreed upon, and someone is a no-show, the person that does show will get a win. His record would look like 1-0-0. The person that no-shows the event, will get a loss and his record would look like 0-1-0. After one no show, you will receive a warning. If you miss 2, you will be eliminated from the league and your fighter’s records will be reset and available to other players. I understand if you're busy...but if you agree to a fight and a time, and you can't make it...you're just holding up the league.
I will also determine (fairly, obviously) the rank of fighters. I will base this on record, first and foremost, followed by quality of opponent, the way the fight ends, how quickly, what round, etc. Please do not argue about where you are ranked. If you don't like your rank, find someone who is willing to fight you on an up-coming PPV, beat them, and move up.
REMEMBER THAT THE RULES CAN BE MODIFIED AS I SEE FIT. Just remember that in this league, you’re representing the WrestlingFigs.com community and MMAFigs.com as a whole, since this will be a featured league where results and upcoming cards WILL be posted on MMAFigs.com. My time as both a WF member and MF admin should be enough for everyone to realize that I’m going to be as fair as possible when it comes to instituting new rules, fixing old rules, or nixing rules altogether.
As the league continues to get bigger and evolve, new rules will inevitably have to pop up, or old rules will inevitably have to be tweaked. Just remember that I am the one solely in charge of doing so, and I can do so at my own discretion. I promise to keep a close eye on what the league’s users like and don’t like from this league, and that their wants and needs WILL be the main factor I take into consideration when thinking about rule changes.
