I logged on today and was going to post this anyway but seeing this thread wfigs.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=wfnj&action=display&thread=1176672800 made me even more determined to.
Here in the UK we had a special WWF poster magazine. The pic in the thread above is from one.
It lasted for a good few years and was of a thick paper quality. It was a UK exclusive and was A4 size. It opened out though into an A3 poster and then a huge A2 poster. Each poster was of a WWF wrestler.
The magazine though was produced in conjunction with the people who handles WWF merchandise at the time. Therfore, on the back page it was the case you would find a merchandise section.
Nearly EVERY month there would be a competition to win some a WWF figure like the Bulldog in the thread above.
Now being 28 at the moment and very much into Hasbros at the time I can remember all this like yesterday.
If you won one of the MANY fig competitions (I did) or even bought from the poster magazine a Hasbro, there was a VERY good chance it would come carded or even bagged.
Therefore, there is a very good chance you can find anything up to wave four of Hasbros in a baggie. Anything after though would be fake because the magazine finished.
To be honest I doubt many bagged examples exist now as fig collecting was not what it is now then and the majority of bagged versions probably arrived and went to kids who opened them.
So there you go hope that clears some bits up for you all.
I have nearly all of the poster mags so can tell you all the comps and what you could buy merchandise wise.
To be honest anyone who is after these bagged version must be mad if you ask me. They were obviously like this so the merchandise company could just save on postage.
