Well, the difference between Edge's first stint as holder of MITB and Swagger's is that Edge was being built up and Swagger who like someone here pointed out , a few months ago, was barely on Raw or jobbing left , right, and sideways.....now he just gets a win, and all of a sudden, the kid is World Champ? I am all for pushing new guys, but this is not the way to do it

MVP(To an extent), Evan Bourne, Legacy, Christian(Since he came), Ryder, Regal. Plus Swagger would face guys like Cena here and there.

And not one of those would be a believable World Champion of Raw or SmackDown without some build up over time. Christian winning at Mania would have been a perfect start for a run at a title. He's ready now and I could see him getting the big win. With months of build some of the others could be believable. Swagger had a few really good matches with Cena as you said, but they were always with him losing, and then going right back to jobbing which killed anything he gained from those. But my entire point with this is, Swagger going from the position of the rest of those guys to beating Jericho for a World Title with no build up what so ever, in the span of 5 days(when SD airs) is just ludicrous.  . Honestly, I think they went with this just for shock value more than anything, which they accomplished here very well. The live report said the crowd was stunned. But it depends on how they go from here. He could turn out to be a good champion, but for right now, I'm leaning against it. We'll just have to wait and see. |

Im glad he won, I like new champs, but it should have been McIntyre winning MITB to begin with.

To be honest, CM Punk in 08 had no build what so ever. His title run was horrible, but that was just the start of CM Punk. I think we should give Swagger some time, he is an excellent wrestler, he needs a manager though maybe Regal or Abe will do the trick.
