I just bought the new Jakks Demolition set and I got to thinking: is there any reason why LJN made Ax but never Smash? Considering they made Ax and Fuji, it just doesn't make sense.

This is one of those questions that belongs in a FAQ at the top of the page. This seems to come up every few months. The reason is that the wave of figures with Ax and The Warlord (who was 1/2 of the Powers of Pain at the time) was supposed to be followed by the next wave in the series with Smash and Barbarian (among others, including The Bushwhackers, Bad News, and Brother Love). However, the line got cancelled and the plans for the last wave of figures was scrapped.

I think that basically LJN lost the WWF license to Hasbro before they could release the other halfs of Demolition, The Powers of Pain and The Islanders.

I wished they made them.. Only bad News had a protype figure made for that year's toy show..Rumor has it.. from what I read from the old www.wrestleworld.com site.. which is gone. I did however talk to Grand Toys (who was putting out the LJN figures by mail threw the Wrestling Ring Inc.) They did say that there was a last series which was scraped and that only Jakks would be able to tell me more and they gave me there email but no luck on the return reply.. I say ask JP. later dudes
