Right, alot of people go on about this time in WWE being a weird one, this and just beofr the Alliance thing, but yea, to me this was an amazing PPV, and historic one at that, plus it was quite dark IMO, just the whole theme of it and the matches, it seemed darker than usual PPV's.
And, why the hell was Triple H on the poster, was he supposed to retunr at Vengence or what?

Yeah, I think they underestimated Triple H's return by a couple of weeks, and by the time they realised, all the posters had already been printed, distributed and such. Same thing with Stone Cold being on the Vengeance 2002 poster when he'd left the company a month earlier. But yeah, I personally loved this show. Very underrated PPV. Matt vs. Jeff in hindsight was the wrong idea, and could've been better, but being an 11 year old Hardyz mark, it was quite cool to see at the time. 'Taker/RVD was a fun match, and 'Taker was just gaining momentum with his short-haired heel persona. My personal favourite era of Undertaker's. And of course, the three Undisputed title matches were all fantastic. I still love Jericho's face after he's beaten The Rock, he's on his knees holding up the World title and Austin's theme music hits almost instantly. The way his face drops is priceless.  It's actually making me want to watch the PPV now.  |

I liked the world title matches and RVD vs. Taker, but everything else sucked.
Plus I really, really hated that post-Alliance, pre-draft period. It was terrible. Austin being face and Angle being face when 3 months ago the roles were completely reversed was awful.

I liked the world title matches and RVD vs. Taker, but everything else sucked. Plus I really, really hated that post-Alliance, pre-draft period. It was terrible. Austin being face and Angle being face when 3 months ago the roles were completely reversed was awful. Something we can agree on.  It was just a period with no real direction. The WWE vs. Alliance war had ended, the Alliance was put out of business, only for most of the superstars in it to return straight away. Before the draft, the roster was overflowing and very cluttered. I went off WWE a bit after the Invasion story ended and didn't really get back into it until around SummerSlam 2002. Then things picked up again, big-time. |

I like this ppv. The rvd/undertaker match was good and being a jericho mark i was glad when he became the undisputed champion.

Did not like the PPV, but I absolutely loved Jericho becoming the Undisputed Champion. Even if through nefarious means.

This was one of my first, if not my first, wrestling DVD. And to this day I've not regretted it.

All the brand switches, title changes, lots of people leaving, mediocre PPV's, short angles etc. it was plain crap. SummerSlam was a great PPV though and with the closing of the "Open Contract" period in WWE where anyone could go anywhere even though the Draft had just happened 3 months prior, WWE came into it's own again. Not to mention great PPV's like Survivor Series, the first Elimination Chamber, amazing tag team division, interesting title picture, Austin's return, Rock's return, Hogan's return, Goldberg coming in. |

4 SUPERSTARS,3 MATCHES,2 TITLES,1 UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONSHIP.What a great event.It did have a dark feel to it.Plus to me Austin showed how good he really was in both of his matches.

Jericho winning was one of the most shocking things I've ever watched. It's pretty impressive for jericho to say he went over austin and rock in the primes of their careers.

Everybody thought the obvious match would be Rock vs. Austin. But it wasn't certain because if they wanted to do that match, why not just do it and not bother with Jericho/Angle?
