I didn't really care. I had a life at the time, and no cable or Internet, so I wasn't really watching wrestling much. People at work told me about it.

I still don't understand why they didn't just do something like this with the logo; That's a crappy five-minute rushjob in Paint, so obviously something cleaner than that, but you know. Would 'a made so much more sense. The emphasis is so boldly on the "Entertainment" aspect these days, yet there's nothing whatsoever in the logo representative of the "E." Never made sense to me, and still doesn't.

Why could have Vince given World Wildlife Fund a chunk of change to call themselves the WWFN ? I still think if he could have tried to harder buy the full rights to the name.

i wasn't a fan. wrestling fans generally don't enjoy change. I don't mind change at all, when it is for the better. But in my opinion, the WW"E" has really went down hill in the last few years majorly.

I don't like it, but then again I don't like change. I cant say that the name has hurt the company, though. The WWE is a publically traded entertainment conglomerate. I think the name fits its new image more than "Federation" would. Let's face it: Wrestlemania X-7/InVasion was really the end of the Attitude Era, and the beginning of a new chapter in the company's history. It didn't hurt when they changed from the WWWF, and I don't think it has hurt by changing from WWF, except for maybe turning away a few fans. The company is thriving, so I guess it doesn't matter. Wow, that actually looks pretty clean. It is strange how the logo is essentially a "WW" now. I could see them using that. On another note, how did y'all feel when they used the "World Wrestling Federation Entertainment" moniker? I don't mind it myself, at least it'd still have "Federation" in there. Also, as for the DVD edits of pre-WWE material, the company is allowed to refer to the WWF in full, as "World Wrestling Federation", so they could have just went with that route and not really had to change anything, just the scratch logo.

I miss it being called WWF but its more annoying that all the old logos have to be blurred out on the older matches

Do people actually call it WWE when they talk in person?
I never stopped calling it WWF. Sometimes people correct me and I tell them off.

the end of a era... since vince jr bought the company it was wwf and for us in the 80s wwf ment = monsters, power houses and giants mostly... it ment top faces like Hulk Hogan,Junkyard Dog and Andre The Giant... top heels like King Kong Bundy Big John Studd and Mr Wonderful...
a tag team roster that in 1986 ran head to head with the nwa's tag team roster...both feds really showcased great teams no doubt...
when NWA broke away and ted renamed what we took as the nwa to WCW it lost its luster from the jim crockett nwa era...and when wwf had to become wwe same thing...
some favor the monday night wars as the height of the war...for me it was the NWA vs WWF in the 1980s that was the height...
clash of the champions and saturday nights main event... heck i grew up in a family that couldnt afford ppv but i was greatful we could have cable..and the night WWF was having wrestlemania 4...i was not left out in the cold as the NWA decided to have there first clash of the champions free and on wtbs the super station...
so while i was anxious to find out if hulk won his belt back from macho, sting and ric flair going to a time limit draw made me feel just as thrilled and happy.

I feel Vince McMahon is an idiot because if he would make an annual donation of $250,000 to the World Wildlife Fund, he couldve kept the WWF initials. I have gotten used to WWE, but 1, 5, 7 years after the name change and people are still calling it "WWF", then they are idiots as well. I refer to the company and events before the name change in May 2002 as WWF and everything after that as WWE.

I only technically watched the WWF for a year and a half and have been watching WWE for 8 years now, but I still mourn the loss of the name. I'm used to WWE now, but Federation is such a cool ing word and I miss it.

I never call it WWE. I don't understand the lawsuit AT ALL...
AMA That is the American Medical Association AMA That is the American Motorcyclists Association
BOTH CAN BE AROUND AND HAVE THE SAME INITIALS!!! HOW could a court decide that Vince cannot keep the WWF initials? It boggles the mind. I STILL feel this could be fought in court.

They could've both had the letters WWF and compromised and used this logo
