Wish a gamestop near me was having a tournament. When I bought my game they had a number for a store that was having the one in their district and it was near Kansas City, KS which is atleast a hour and a half from my house. I figured if I didn't have much to do Saturday I might try and find it and atleast watch some of it.

In career mode, I'm up to 20-0. 19 wins by KO/TKO, 1 by cut stoppage. I'm the reigning LHW champion. I just turned down moving up to Heavyweight, because I'm aiming for a title for title fight, and I'm still having fun fighting at LHW. Plus, with all the talk of glitches, I'm not about to vacate my LHW title for pretty much nothing

If anybody wants a copy of this at a cheap price, let me know. I'm ing done with this garbage. I can't help but side with you there, I've given it to my brother and will just watch him from time to time...I couldn't be bothered, so I'm going back to Undisputed 2009.

The submission system is CLEARLY flawed. Frank Mir just takes me down and submits me RIGHT AWAY. I have NO TIME to defend at all.

speaking of Frank Mir, him. I'm in a title for title fight with him, 22-0 with every fight by vicious knock out (because I've focused entirely on stand up, since the ground game is ed anyways), Frank Mir just bum rushes me, takes me to the ground instantly and submits me. I've had to reset three times on Frank Mir already to keep the undefeated streak, since I KNOW I can beat him. Previously in career mode, I've only had to reset once. Frank Mir and the Heavyweight title

This game is a huge step back from the last one. Atleased the 2009 game, it was a fair fight with the button mashing. In this one, Mir can take you down and instantly submit you. It's bullsh*t.

My brother has lost 3 times to Thiago Silva in a LHW title fight, even though leading up to Silva, he has knocked out Liddell, Griffin, Brilz and Rampage inside of 1 minute.
All of a sudden, that doesn't work on Silva, who won't tap to kimura locked on in his guard, but will make my brother tap instantly to a kneebar or armbar.
I'm watching, and can only imagine what he's thinking. Sheesh.
Getting knocked silly in the clinch when using the analog stick to try and get out of it is a futile exercise as well, as we well know, but yeah, I've had enough.

I almost hate posting in here just because my experience has been completely different then everyone elses.
I'm only on my 2nd fight since joining the UFC, and cleared through the minor leagues pretty easily. The first fight was with Keith Jardine, who rocked me in the first while in the clinch. It was my fault for not circling him and letting him push me around. So in the second round, I changed my pace and slowed it down, keeping my distance. Rocked him twice and mounted him once. 30 seconds into the third round and I got the knockout via uppercut.
I made an event last night with some friends over, leading to the main event between my ro-bro Brandon and myself. He's a big Forrest fan and I usually play as Anderson Silva when playing against others. It was a 5 round fight, and it went 4 solid rounds of back and forth. Both mounted, were mounted, rocked and cut. At the start of the 5th round, we exchange in the middle of the octagon. He gets a kick in that knocks me down, and I barely get back up before he tries to ground me. We had a little stare off for a moment, and BOOM.
He goes for a superman punch right as I go for a spinning backfist. It was picture perfect. The way it connected, where Forrest's arms were. It couldn't have looked any better and it was a hell of a finish.
I honestly don't think at this point there is any tips or anything that could help anyone out, as the flaws are obvious in the game. I guess I've just been fortunate enough to work around those flaws.

Haven't even touched career mode yet because of what everyone has said.
Also, wouldn't it have been cool for them to do a "booker" mode. Instead of just an event mode you get to book all the matches for a few years for all divisions.
Also, they coming out with a patch for the submissions?

Apparently, they are working on a patch, but haven't been too specific with what it will fix or when it will be done. My guess is if THQ wants to actually sell copies of the game, it will be out sooner than later.

I've avoided Career Mode, if not for all of the other reasons just because I don't feel like making anyone again, and I've experienced the whole submission deal--but I'm really enjoying the game so far. I actually like the whole charging submission style because I've never been able to make anyone tap before--at least in 09. I just don't like how tough it is to defend when it's coming from the computer. Other than that I haven't had any problems with the game. I can understand why people would complain about the things I've mentioned, but to make it seem like the game itself is unplayable is just ridiculous.

If it seriously takes you (or anyone else for that matter) awhile to try and get a how-to going, that means there are flaws. I am not at all sure what the hell they were trying to do here with the submission system, but it isn't a fair fight once it's on the ground.

My guess is that they were trying to prevent turbo controllers from coming back, but in my opinion this is much worse. Last year I could beat almost anybody by submission because I was better at tapping, so it was actually a skill to have. Same thing with transition reversals last year. I played 130 ranked and a lot more player matches, and only a handful of people were as good as me. This year they made the timing window for reversals HUGE and now every Joe Schmoe will reverse the **** out of you. It seems like they catered to all the whiney babies who didn't want to put the time in to learn the game and dumbed it down a lot.

I'm not trying to come across as a dick, but I find that particular sentence extremely ironic. You're complaining because they changed something that you were good with, so now you'd have to learn it again. If they changed it back, wouldn't they once again be catering to the 'whining babies'?--the ones who don't feel like learning the game?

That would be ironic...if they had changed it to something that actually involved skill or could be learned. This year it's all about ratings. Last year it didn't matter who you chose, if I could tap well enough you would not be able to cheap me out unless you used a turbo. This year you can charge at me with Demian Maia, take me down (or wait for me to take you down) and slap on a sub. Even if I have full stamina my fighter will tap every time, no matter how hard I spin the stick. What do you suggest I do? There's nothing to learn, nothing to practice. At the end of the day certain characters have been given absurd submission ratings that are impossible to combat.

Well, last night, it happened. Anderson Silva (me) vs Demian Maia. I'm beating the **** out of him and I have literally a full stamina bar. I'm on the ground, on top, and connect with a right hook. All of a sudden, Demian grabs my arm, and with the 1/8th stamina he has left, taps me out, even though I charged and let off with plenty of energy to fight it off.
This is probably the second time it's happened, honestly. Just first time against the computer. I wasn't too pissed at the time, as I just did a rematch and whopped his ass again. However, I do see how that can be very annoying if it happens on a regular basis to someone playing.
If I had to pick out an issue or two that I have with the game, even with my experience being somewhat different then everyone else, is the submissions. If I'm on the ground, and on top, the only way you should be able to reverse me is by grabbing one of my arms during a stike. It makes no sense to me to have a guy on his back, with no control at all, to be able to move both arms all of a sudden to one side and snap my arm.
It is way too easy for a fighter in a disadvantaged position to not only slap on a submission, but pretty much win because of it. Now, since this is probably something that won't be addressed, I do hope they give you an option on submissions.
Like I said a few pages ago, if they can give us two different controller schemes for SVR in the same game, one with new controls and one with the old, there's no reason why this game shouldn't have a similar option for submissions. If I want to mash some buttons to get you to tap out, let me.
I guess each experience is different, but I can't help but wonder how everyone would be reacting to the game if
A. They made the "charging" feature widely known to fans off the bat B. They actually took time to explain it in the tutorial. C. They actually took time to explain how to defend it properly.
Same goes for the clinch, which I've yet to have a serious problem with. If I want to move up to the head, I can. If I want to move down to the body and slam you, I can. If I want to take you down mid clinch, I can. So I don't really know what to say about that issue.

I'm stocked in the carrere mode against Griffin for the ufc belt. I can't beat him, he makes me tap within 40 seconds every time !!!!!!!

Is there a specific way he takes you down or gets you into the submission position? Or is it just any fight, he gets a tap somewhere in it?
One thing I've noticed in my fights is very rarely has the CPU tried to take me down if I'm not near the cage. Only when I'm near the cage will they come in, which usually pushes me up against the cage as you would imagine. So once I started getting closer to the cage, I'd usually just lay and wait, moving and jabbing when I can, and waiting to take them down towards the middle of the octagon.
I dont know. I feel kind of silly trying to give advice considering the game kind of hinders any advice anyone could give. To each their own.
