This is one of the best I've ever seen! Especially in the last 10 years or so. And this was with only 4 weeks of build-up!

Nothing beats the Vince vs. Hogan promo from WM19.

All 3 had great build ups but to me sadly all 3 totally failed in the end....
The Sting-Hogan match is obvious failure, as is the Alliance angle. Now I know what you kiddies are sayin, how can you say Rock-Austin was failure. Simply because for 2 years I watched what developed into one of the greatest feuds in wrestling history between Austin and McMahon and then they join forces?? It just killed the entire 2 years before to me.

Starrcade 97 was a total failure because of Hogan-of course we all know that.

Sting dropped the ball on the biggest night of his career by being out of shape and strung-out. So unless Hogan was doing a poor job of training Sting at the gym, or supplying him with illegal narcotics, then I'd say Hogan was not responsible for the match being a bust.

His entire fued with Vince was centered around the title in the first place. And say what you will, but Austin played the paranoid champion to a T. He was perfect as a heel. Add Vince to his side as a way to keep the title and you had a good story IMO.

Wait, Sting being out of shape and "strung-out" was the reason for Sting not getting a clean win off Hogan? Did Sting botch the finish or something? In Eric Bischoff's book he mentions how unhappy he and Hogan were with Sting for not showing up "ready for work" being in poor cardiovascular conditioning, lacking desire and being pretty strung-out on drugs. The match was lackluster and that is due to Sting. He moved around the ring as if he were sedated and put forth an uninspired performance in the biggest match of his career. Add all that up and it is the reason why he was not rewarded with the clean win over Hogan. Justifiably so.

The Sting V Hogan was cool, but Rock V Austin was better.

These videos are one of the main reasons I refuse to see TNA as direct competition with WWE. Look at the quality of these videos....how everything is so in sync and spot on with the music, the mixing, the emotion.
I would buy a boxset of just build up promos in a heart beat.
