My god, trying to find a good tattooist in south east england... Most shops are run by damn con-artist chancers who are looking to make a cheap buck off the popularity of Miami / LA Ink... Getting an apprentiship is hard enough without having to filter through these guys... Anyway guys, a quick tattoo design i thought i'd show you guys, did it as a birthday present for a mates sister. Not my usual thing, but it came out well and it was a nice change to draw Just two more tattoos that i have planned, then i think i will be taking a slight hiatus, wanna try some concept art stuff and physical sculpture

Crappy photo of the work I got done last Friday. It's my favourite lines from Forever Young by Bob Dylan, which is one of my favourite songs ever.

I have an appointment to get my first tattoo on Saturday. I have a few aftercare questions and would appreciate some help. I'm getting on my left bicep.
1. Should I take any special precautions when showering? I saw somewhere that it's ok to get it wet but you shouldn't let it soak. If I'm in the shower wouldn't it kinda get soaked?
2. I usually wear long sleeved shirts to work. Should I do a light wrapping over the tattoo so my sleeve doesn't keep rubbing against it? I have this wrapping material that's great. It's like a super thin cloth. It's not adhesive but it clings to itself so it stays in place. It also breaths well since its so thin.

1. It should be fine as the water isn't running onto it directly, better to let it hit another part of you and run down onto the area.
2. Not entirely sure about this one, but you could always wear a t shirt underneath since that would be cotton and wouldn't irritate it.

Don't put wrapping over the tattoo, let it breathe.
In the shower, just try to not let it get drenched, and don't cover it with soap and stuff. I've got both of my forearms done. It's a little irritating, but I just used one arm to do everything.

Thanks bro, it's not too bad I don't think. Hurt more than the other one I had (on the other forearm) but I think that was probably because it was a lot bigger. The worst bit was when she got up near my elbow although that could have been because I had to have my arm in a weird position with my arm tensed pushing my elbow out of place.

This is my first tat, I didnt know what to expect really, my girlfriend was training to become a tattooist a few years back so I learnt all the necessary info back then, but pain wise I didnt know what to expect, everyone deals with pain in different ways, I found it ok, some areas more enjoyable than others. The part that put me off the most was the sound of the gun (?) if thats what its called xD I decided I wanted a tattoo to symbolise my inner nerd so I went with a yoda, but after googling I found yoda tats were quite common, so I put my own twist on it by adding in sugar skull styled "highlights" if you will as I really like the colours of the sugar skull decor, anyways here's the pic my next session is on the 9th of April, when I'll be getting the colour added -

Can't wait to see it finished. Make sure you post a new picture once it's colored in.

My 5th tattoo, second stage. The CXS cross was the first part, just got the ankh today. I designed the whole thing best I could in Photoshop and told my artist what I had in mind. He loves doing stone texturing which ended up being perfect cause he took my design to another level. The 3D lining was his idea, as was the idea to add the random cracks and pits, which actually fits my personality and my life. I almost wanted to cry it was so amazing when it was all done. He said once it heals all the shading will settle, he used a lot of gray tones which you cant totally make out now, once it heals Im going back so he can get a picture and possibly do some darker work depending on how I feel about it.
The third step will be black, scorched, flaming fallen-angel wings that will go up my shoulder and partially across my chest and back. Possible fourth will be some background designing to pull my half-sleeve, if I can work out a design that fits and I am satisfied with, otherwise I might leave it at the wings

Remember when I posted I had just taken a seat a few weeks ago? Here's some poor, gorilla style sh*t pictures. I never get around to sharing anymore. Got some filigree to fill in my open spots on the right forearm. I've got dual half sleeves now, haha. Now to work up. I'd like to apologize for the quality, it really doesn't do the work my artist did justice. This is what happens when I take a photo while listening to Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast. He's so funny. That's a genuine 'I'm about to laugh' smile, there, folks. Pretty rare from an on-again off-again depressed hermit like myself, haha.

Just got my first tattoo tonight. Came out great. The guy said the shading will lighten up a bit. I was surprised by how little it hurt. I could definitely feel it but I was super comfortable the whole time.

Look for awards too. ---One day away from getting my hand done. So ing excited.

Doesnt that hurt? Well yeah, I mean, all tattoos hurt. It's a needle being repeatedly stabbed up to (somewhere around) 200 times per second into your skin. It kills me when people claim it doesn't hurt, sure it might be tolerable, but your brain is still registering pain. Of all the tattoos I have, my fingers have hurt the absolute most, and the radiation symbol behind my right ear has hurt the least. I expect my hand to be about equal in pain to that of my forearms.
