Copycat tattoos aren't usually looked kindly upon. well then i apologize for sharing Well, it is somewhat disrespectful in tattoo culture to copy someone else's custom work, both with the person wearing it, and the artist who designed it and originally tattooed it. It's a "no no" without question. I was once told by someone on WF they were going to get MY sugar skull tattooed on them - I had it drawn up as a memorial to my father, it was MY design. The thought that someone would just wear it for no reason at all, offended the **** out of me. I assume CM Punk might feel somewhat the same on the topic. In fact, just google search, "tattoo etiquette copying someone else" and see what you find.

Is it true hand tattoo's fade faster than normal? Yup. Skin cells shed a lot faster on the hands (especially the palms). But, as long as they are well taken care of during healing process, and afterward they should last a good long time before needing any touching up. My fingers already need a touch up, I got them while I was still working, and a good amount of ink fell out. I have a vacation any time I want after the end of this month, so if my thumbs end up needing it too, I'm going to have them done at the same time. Out of everything I have so far, my hands are undoubtedly my favorite. Anyone thinking about getting their's done really needs to consider that a lot if employers WILL turn you down though. That is a conscious decision you really have to think about. I'm not planning on getting my hands tatted by any means. I want to be a police officer so getting my hands done would be a very dumb decision on my part. I was just interested considering one of my friends had his palms done and there pretty much faded now. btw the lighting bolts are your thumbs are ing awesome dude.

I hate how people defend personal tattoos but have the urge to show them off to everyone, like on fb. If it's personal, a, other people won't understand it, and b, the tattooed person should care what others think. If someone puts a pic of their tattoo online and a person likes it enough for them to want it on their body then that's fine. The dislike for this just proves that most people with tattoos believe body art makes them more 'original'. CM Punk has GI Joe tattoos and a pepsi ones too, is he the only person in the world with them?

The dislike for this just proves that most people with tattoos believe body art makes them more 'original'. CM Punk has GI Joe tattoos and a pepsi ones too, is he the only person in the world with them? No, I think you just don't get it. There is nothing at all wrong with being proud enough to show off something you went through hours of pain to have for the rest of your life, especially if the art is brilliant. I have "personal" tattoos, but it's not like other people can't relate to them. I'm sure other people have lost a parent, or both and know what that's like. What an asinine thing to say. No, it isn't fine for someone to blatantly steal someone else's tattoo, if you want a run-of-the-mill design then pick some flash off of a wall. But if you like someone else's custom tattoo sooooo much, draw inspiration from it and talk to an artist and make it YOUR OWN. I don't think anyone with tattoos feels more "original" than anyone else, just more comfortable to wear their heart, beliefs, and/or personality on their sleeve, albeit that isn't a fair thing to say for people who just don't like tattoos. You miss the point, the cobra, Arashikage clan, and Pepsi logos are NOT custom pieces, my Leonardo, TigerBat, and lightning bolts are NOT custom pieces - plenty of people have TMNT tattoos, bolts, and Tiger Army's logo... meeting people with the same ink in that sense wouldn't offend me, it'd show common interest. Someone STEALING what I put thought into with an artist, that the artist drew up FOR ME, would offend me without question. If you can't understand any of that, then I am very, very sorry.

My brief input on hand tattoos and copy cat tattoos:
I have both my hand done and since I've gotten them done I have had a numerous amount of good job and I currently work for Time Warner Cable. So even though, yes it will make job hunting harder, you can still find great employment opportunities.
As far as copy cat tattoos. If it is an original design by a tattoo artist, then it shouldn't be copied. It is extremely disrespectful to the artist themselves. Now I saw one member pointed out Punk's Pepsi and Cobra tattoos. These are symbols that have been duplicated many times throughout the years. They aren't original tattoo designs. I myself try and be original with what I put on my body but I do have the Atlanta Falcons symbol and the Breaking Bad Heisenberg drawing tattooed on me. And I know for a fact one other member on this site has the Breaking Bad tattoo. It isn't so much copying when it is a symbol of something made famous outside the tattoo world.

This talk of copycat tattoos has got me thinking. When I'm a bit older, I wouldn't mind getting Chris Jericho's Sin and Bones piece maybe on my arm. Would this be considered frowned upon in the tattoo world? I mean, I love Fozzy, Sin and Bones is my favourite album of theirs, and the ink would stand out. If someone loves a band, like Metallica, ACDC, Saliva, Drowning Pool, and many people get the same piece, is that considered copycat? The same with TV Shows, Movies, historic events etc.

Pop culture references, whether it is TV, music, or movies are not included.

I've seen at least one person on here with the exact one, so I'm hoping he doesn't think I'm copying him. Just a big fan of the show in itself. EDIT: Ok Valo has a Walter White Heisenberg tattoo too. Not the same image though, a much cooler and original one.

I'm hoping to get another tattoo later this month or early next. Depends on when I have time off work and if they are available.
I want above my hourglass piece, a jack-o-lantern/pumpkin sitting in autumn leaves surrounded by smoke/fog effect. I think it will fit in with the hourglass nicely due to the flowers and leaves that is included. It will almost represents the changing of seasons too.
Halloween has always been my favourite holiday, and October is my favourite time of year with the autumn leaves and what-not.
Edit: It will cross past my inner elbow "pit" and onto my bicep.
