This topic has been re-posted from the UFC Figure Talk board. Since the mod of the WF Figure Feds: Pics said this should be posted here, I'm putting it here. I figured this would be a good way to get the word out to the animation/pic fed community that may not read the UFC Figure Talk board. Here's the repost: Get all the details here. In short: the first round of my long-planned full-length Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir pic match is up, and to commemorate the launch of this little pet project I'm sponsoring a contest and laying down a challenge to the pic/animation fed/match community: send me your best MMA match, whether it be pics or animation, and I'll feature it on MMAFigs.com and even interview you to get your insight on what it takes to create a great pic match. That's about it...hopefully everyone likes my match! I explain it and a few more things regarding the contest in the linked post, so get to clickin'!

Thanks for the contest, I fear there aren't many MMA-figure users here though.

I'm just posting it wherever I think it'll get noticed. Any and all entries are accepted, so long as it's an MMA fight with MMA action figures.
Right now there's no real due date or cutoff date for this, so I'm confident that at least some people will take an interest in it and submit a match.

I wish I had the finances to buy all the UFC figures. Maybe one day as I thought about a pic fed in MMA style a while back. I have tons of great ideas and storylines to put to it as well

Round 2 is now up, anybody interested can click here to view it. Apparently this thing is decently popular, Round 1 has currently clocked in at a little over 300 views. I'd love to hear some comments, though! Hopefully everyone enjoys Round 2 too.

Well guys, one heck of a "pet project" has finally found its conclusion. Round 4 of the Lesnar/Mir match is now online! Check it out here. Making the finale, and the match as a whole, was a definite labor of love. Some parts were ridiculously hard to capture correctly, but in the end I'm glad I embarked on this little project. I've gained a ton of new respect for everyone out there in the pic/animation community, especially considering that what I've ultimately created is downright amateurish when compared to a whole lot of stuff I've seen on this board and other boards. Now, with all that said, I've made a refined list of rules for the MMAFigs.com custom picture/animation match contest. They're in the link provided, but for those that want them here, here they are. 1. Both picture and animation matches are accepted. 2. Only UFC/MMA personalities. They can be UFC style, Ruthless Agression style, even custom figures! So long as they've competed in Mixed Martial Arts, anyone is fair game. 3. Please do not send me the raw images or animations. Instead, try and compose an online gallery for pic matches and upload your animation matches to a video hosting site, like YouTube. 4. Only one entry per person. If you want to switch your entry at a later date with something you feel is a better match, that is allowed. However, it can only be done once. Also, you must notify me no later than a week before the deadline if you plan to switch your match. No last-minute switches! 5. I will be the only one judging this contest. No polls, no tournament format, just me picking whichever one I think is best out of the entire list of entries. If you can't handle a little rejection, please don't apply. 6. The deadline to submit your match is now official: Febuary 24, 2009. If you haven't started yet, this gives you a month and a half to turn in something. 7. The winner of the contest will have their match featured on MMAFigs.com, and I will personally interview them to get their thoughts on the picture/animation process, what it takes to make a good match, and more. 8. Remember, all entries must be submitted to pdw2kx@yahoo.com. With that said, good luck to all who enter! Here's hoping you all enjoy this final round of UFC action figure action.
