If you read Tom's report, it clearly says Mattel will have legends line in the fall of 2010.

^^^then you can spend 15 bucks a pop, re-buying your entire CS collection. Mattel is not going to get to sign anyone to a contract that JAKKS didnt get to. So, basically all you will be doing is replacing your current CS figures with higher priced ones. CRAZY!!! No thanks, I will keep my current ones.

Maybe..but they could also sign people jakks did and didn't end up making in the end. Also not every classic superstar only had one attire so mattel can quite easily make figures of people in different attires plus if people are obviously gonna collect mattel stuff full on they will fit into their new collection perfectly.

Really. I hope that Jakks makes more Classic people that didn't get a fig. Lita for one. I hope they sign some good legends though.

I will say this, if Mattel ends up signing people who Jakks didn't (ie: Savage, Bravo, Adonis, Steamboat)and makes the packaging significantly different, I'm going to be severely pissed.
I hate to sound anal, but when I have a whole wall of MOC figures and there's a handful of those that get made that look completely different as far as the packaging, I could care less about the condition of the figure itself as long as it isn't ridiculously easy to notice.
I think they should continue the "Classic Superstars" line, although I'm not sure if Jakks has that trademarked, if not...please please please Mattel, continue what a great line we had (well up until CS15).
I'm not going to rebuy around 150 figures just so they match, unless Mattel wants to do a trade in deal, which is only wishful thinking but the only way they'd get me to buy their product.

they probably will sign alot people that Jakks didnt, but its not like Jakks didnt wanna sign everyone but they simply ran out of time, Jakks came up with the Legends idea in 2004 at that point they had 4 years left with the license but they didnt know it until 2006, that gave em time to make all the well known Legends like Hogan,Bret and Warrior...when they finally found out that the license was expiring they knew they couldnt get to everyone in just 2 years.....so they just started repainting....if Jakks had thought of this when they started making WWE figs way back when! then they probably would have had almost everyone by now......
Mattel is gonna have that idea when they 1st start and who knows when they're license is gonna end!!!, so in a nut shell Mattel can pretty much pump out every Legend!!!
with the obvious exception which are down below
Macho Man can never be signed because regardless of which Company is making the Figs they're under WWE's License and Vince is not gonna allow it....
Owen's wife isnt gonna change her mind just because Mattel is making the figs.......she still hates WWE and Vince and she doesnt want anything to do with them!

I will say this, for the legends line, it comes down to attire as I will not rebuy or re-start my classic collection.
I do PRAY Mattel makes a WM VII or SummerSlam Ultimate Warrior with cloth coat!

If they are not in scale with Jakks CS line then I don't think Mattel could make a Legends Line viable, they just won't be able to sell them because who's going to buy them?!!
Anyone who wanted figures of WWF stars of the 70s, 80s and 90s will mostly now be in their 20s/30s/40s and will have been collecting Jakks line.
So the only way Mattel could sell figures of stars of that Era are by either convincing all the CS collectors to ditch their collections and start from scratch (which will cost ALOT and also it's highly unlikely that Mattel will repeat everyone that Jakks did) -OR- Mattel need to find an entire new group of 20-40 year olds who love action figures and classic WWF then they need to convince them to start buying wrestling figures again (possibly for the first time in 20+ years) -OR- Mattel will have to continue where Jakks left off chronologically, i.e. they will have to make classics from 2000 onwards so that kids will buy them, then Mattel could carry on making figures that are "classics" in the eyes of the young kids who collect/play now aswell as all the kids who are too young or not born yet.
It woulda been alot easier to just keep the 7" scale. It also shows that Mattel didn't pay any attention whatsoever to collectors requests because the only thing collectors cared about on the face of it was the scale so if they ignored that it doesn't bode well for the future little details that people might care about.

Pleanty will buy them, if they want proper licensed wwe classics then mattel is their only option now. So the only way Mattel could sell figures of stars of that Era are by either convincing all the CS collectors to ditch their collections and start from scratch (which will cost ALOT and also it's highly unlikely that Mattel will repeat everyone that Jakks did) Again if they want new classic then they will have to start a fresh but that doesn't mean they have to get rid or ditch their jakks collection but really sticking with jakks isn't gonna add much more proper classic to their collection. The same way jakks got the CS line to work can also work for mattel, not everyone's main focus is scale to decide their collections so im pretty sure classic fans will buy them regardless who makes them.

I highly suggest you look into seeing the unpainted proto pics where they are compared to RA figures, because, they aren't that different in size at all. It's starting to piss me off that people are saying they are so much smaller. THEY ARE CORRECTLY SIZED. Sure, the Bourne figure is like an inch smaller than the Jakks one, well, that's because Bourne shouldn't be the same height as the Undertaker. If you look at the Big Show figures next to one another, they are almost identical in height. Hell, even the HBK figures are about the exact same height and he is one of those medium sized wrestlers, so, that should be a pretty good judgment. The only figures that will look ridiculous will be ones that JAKKS has made too big.

Dude, for like your past 20 posts, all you've talked about is how expensive Mattel figs will be. If you don't like Mattel, then why are you always posting on the Mattel board. I'm sure everyone understands you'll be sticking with Jakks, and there's not a thing in the world wrong with that, as I'll be collecting Mattel WWE and Jakks TNA. But you don't have to always get on here and dog Mattel. I'm not like trying to be a jerk or anything, but we all know that you don't like the Mattel figs and they're prices.

This post is mainly about "Classics" and future "Legends".
I was hoping Mattel wouldnt make thier own brand of Classics because now we all must start over. From the looks of Austin and HBK all I can say is that "It's ON !"
At least Mattel kept things in scale pretty well to go along with RA .I tip my hat off to them for that one.But I still dislike the skinny arms now thats a low blow im still suffering from.Like I said before they had to be made skinny for the elbow pads would look right. If your "Superstar" doesnt wear elbow pads ........ than tough luck LOL.
Bottom line expect me to sell most all my MOC collection and some loose figs coming this X-MAS.Just in time for me to restock for 2010.

The problem is they come with that little thing that plays their music, right? That and the detailed gear make them expensive.
