Something I have been wondering lately is when a new superstar makes there debut and is going to be established. How soon do you think Mattel will push a figure out of them? Let's say Mattel was in power now and Drew McIntyre debuted Sept. 1st 2009 how soon will we see his figure?

I'd say atleast 3-4 months maybe, they will want to make sure he is gonna stick around at 1st before even think about making him imo. But saying that, we dont even know what mattel's release dates will be like yet

Depends how fast they get pushed. If Nigel McGuinness debuts on February 1st and wins the US Title on March 6th, I would think that we would get his figure, relatively fast.

It all depends because as you can see we are just about to get an RA figure of Jack Swagger so do the math I think he's been around for close to a year now.

It really depends on the communication between WWE and Mattel and how far in advance they make Mattel aware of their intentions. Say Brian Danielson reports to the developmental territory in October and WWE decides that he'll debut (and win!) the Royal Rumble. If they decide this in November and let Mattel know right away, we could see his figure come out relatively shortly after his debut.

I just hope the quality of there figures doesn't hold them back..
If the figures come out flawless.. Then I don't mind waiting.. But if we wait 4 months between each series and get repaints or re used parts..
Then Mattel will fail.. Epically.

Communication between WWE and Mattel should be better than with Jakks which should help things. However, WWE doesn't give away any plans in advance, and any toy company will only want to produce figures that will sell will mean more wrestlers who are over being produced.
We know that Jakks had a short lead time between a wrestler who had an existing scan debuting a new outfit and Jakks releasing a figure, but it took just over a year for a new wrestler debuting to a new figure being produced.
I don't see that chnaging with Mattel, as the bigger companies like to plan further ahead, but in the fast moving world of wrestling Mattel will have to become more responsive.

Ruthless Aggression never tried to make all the main eventers first, so hopefully Mattel releases a new guy in with the rest, such as Ryder, Yoshi, Primo, etc.
