Hello to ALL, this is the first edition of PFI, with this sorta online magazine I hope to contribute to the picfed board by bringing news, interviews and features to this little project of mine.
TO ALL those out there
Keep PICFEDS ALIVE!
He's back, He's back. I sat down with Slash the creator of CFW for an exclusive interview on what we can expect from the pic fed titan. As you all know CFW has come back with a vengeance giving us the viewers a truely professional look. Lets look at how that interview went down.
So how did you get into picfeding in the first place? What made you return?
I got into Pic Fedding after watching episodes of FCW, XCFF and does anybody remember that animated pic fed by a guy, HBKid? Three feds that are now sadly defunct. They all inspired me to do what I do today, as some people, mainly the veterans will know, there's a little bit of all three in CFW.
How do you feel about the current state of picfeding?
I'm torn on this one. Some weeks, the board is buzzing with shows, other weeks it's quiet, which is acceptable, as people need to take breaks between each episode. The most dissapointing thing is the lack of replies. A regular CFW show can sometimes recieve 300+ views and only 14 replies. I appreciate some people maybe going back to view the show again or to leave another reply, but what about the other 300?
What can we expect at Worlds Apart?
I‘m going to try and answer this without giving too much away, as I've been working on the PPV since 'The Rising' back in March. This will be the first big event that I can actually put some real cash into. When I first did CFW, I wasn't working, now that I am, it gives me alot more options. Things like the Scaffold Match is something I've always wanted to do, since FCW did that, to mix it up a little, I gave it that extreme addition with the Barbed Wire. I've always had alot of respect for William Regal and he's a Superstar that I believe is wasted in WWE, so I wanted to push him. I'm also a huge fan of Shawn Michaels, so it's sort of a dream match for me. Again, without giving too much away, here's a few things the fans can expect -
* A bigger, brighter entrance set. I like to think I upped my game with the 'Conflict' set, but this thing for Worlds Apart is HUGE! It fits in very well with the show's theme and the current state of CFW. There's a little bit of heaven in there, mixed with alot of hell!
* As I already posted, this will be the first ever CFW PPV without the Championship being defended in the main event. McMahon vs. Styles for complete control of the company is perhaps the biggest thing to ever happen in CFW. I'm confident it deserves the main event spot. Alot of people have told me that I'm really good at pulling off hardcore matches and street fights, which is really pleasing, as I'm a big fan of them. This is an 'I Quit' match, all I'm going to say is there's going to be alot of blood.
* Finally, I want to touch on the Undertaker vs. Mordecai feud. I as always a fan of the short lived Mordecai gimmick he had in the WWE, I want to try and implement some of that into his CFW character, so we may just be seeing a white casket alongside the black on at Worlds Apart.
As a picfedder from the "golden age" what feds inspired you? What feds do you like now?
Again, I owe alot to FCW and XCFF. Also, JWF was one hell of a show and Haggar and awesome guy and a great friend. At the minute, I like TWA and UGW. I watch every show out there, but these two really get me excited!
How do you come up with your unique storylines? Do you brainstorm or improvise?
There was one point, when I first started, that people accused me of directly copying FCW. I'm not going to say that I didn't, because I did get a few ideas from them, and I don't regret it. Today, I look at some of the characters and storylines in WWE and it makes me cringe. Although it's only a pic fed, alot of fans have posted that they watch CFW as an alternative to WWE, which is a real honor! I do brainstorm alot of my storylines and come up with a basic idea, I then add to it. I go over the top sometimes, but I do it on purpose! I like to add unbelieveable aspects to my shows and things you wouldn't see anywhere else.
There are other times, when to their credit, I do like what WWE does with their characters and storylines, so I'll use and more often than not, develop on those.
What do you have planned for Freedomania?
Back in 2003, I was the guy who created Freedomania, yet I've only partcipated in 2 of them. I have something nice planned for Freedomania, you'll just have to wait and see. I was originally going to do Shawn Michaels and Diesel vs. The Secret Service, but Masters and Striker got released last month, so it won't be that anymore. I'm going to implement something very special and very unique. It'll be a first time deal for CFW.
Do you have any suggestions for those who want to take their fed to the next level? (posing, presentation, commentary)
I'm glad you asked me this. There's alot of great new feds out there, there's also a lot of potential, but one thing that annoys me and I stress it enough, is the way commentary is typed and messy looking arenas. You don't need money to make a smart, tidy looking arena. If you're going to use string on your ariel shots, edit it out before posting your shows. It's simple things like this that make a fed great.
What words of encouragement do you have for people who want to start up a picfed?
If you're thinking about doing it, I know there are a few people who are, go for it. Don't be put off my the occasional negative comment, do it for yourself, at the end of the day, it's all for fun! I shifted from that phase though, now I do it for the people and fans, but you don't have to. Just have fun!
Any closing thoughts?
I just want to say thank you to you for giving me the chance to do this, thank you to all of my fans from over the years (all 7 of them) and I just want to say, Worlds Apart isn't the end, it's a new beginning for CFW. Season X will begin in Winter and it's out 10th season and it's going to be one hell of a season! I believe CFW is the longest running pic fed (correct me if I'm wrong) and I'm going to prove (without sounding big headed) it's one of the best! Stay tuned, keep feddin' and most importantly, keep replying!

*wwefan and LMD feds were not included in this rating system based on the fact that they have both decided to go in different directions creatively*
*This rating system is also based squarely on a feds activity level, if you want your wrestlers to show up in the ranking sytem start making more shows!*
FREEDOMANIA
One simple question, are you IN or OUT?
I asked some of the particapants of this year's summer spectical what they had planned. The results, SHOCKING!
Deskjet told me his match was top secret but later spilled the beans about a possible three way between Jeter, Jericho and a mystery opponet.
LMB told us it would be his last match using the RIW banner featuring Paul London, Jimmy Wang and Jamie noble.....hmmm intresting.
And the highly impressive number1swaggerfan of HWW has told me that Kurt Angle will hold a open challenge but would not give up anymore details pertaining to.
So anyway that is all hoped it was a good read stay tuned next time as we look at some of the classic matches from the past and we pick the mind of the legendary Deskjet!
