Credit PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson:
Former WWE stars Shawn Spears (Gavin Spears in ECW) and Elijah Burke are backstage at the TNA Impact tapings and are dressed to wrestle, so they are working the tapings tonight. ____________
I heard something about Shawn Spears soon getting a shot in ROH, so don't know if this is just a test the waters shot in TNA, as ROH has interest in him as an untapped talent. He's a great talent, despite WWE's abysmal push of him.
Elijah Burke - Need I say more? He's the type of talent TNA should have been signing when looking at WWE talent let go or parted ways.

Never seen Spears, but I know a lot of people were high on him. And that's amazing that Elijah Burke is in TNA. I always thought he had so much talent and potential. TNA seems to be stepping it up lately.

JB is saying (via Twitter) they haven't been offered a deal. I guess it was a tryout. Someone I talked to that was there said that Burke worked as a face and was very over.

Both of them were very good. Burke got quite the pop and was very over with the crowd.

ING HELL YESSSS!!!. Elijah Burke is STILL the man and Gavin Spears is a fantastic talent. I had an awesome gimmick idea for Spears - "The Gambler" Gavin Spears. He would be a gambler and his finishers would be called "The Roll of the Dice" and "The Payout". Why haven't they capitalized on this?!

Holy , how in the is TNA financially able to pick-up all of these wrestlers lately? I enjoy Burkes work so that's awesome, haven't seen too much of Spears. One of the great things about running shows out of the same building every week is that you pay the same amount every time. You don't have to pay a different arena's booking fee. It's the same reason Eric Bischoff ran shows out of MGM in Florida during his tenure in WCW. It just makes fiscal sense. Elijah Burke is amazing. I hope they pick him up. I'd watch TNA every week if he were on.

Every company needs capitol from somewhere.
