That standing drop kick was pretty sweet. The reason i think he wasn't pushed was because he was crap.

to be honest his gimmick was kinda boring. i wasn't even a fan of his when i was young young. either way like you said wwe didn't push to many blacks back in the day and to be honest they still rarely put belts on them.

I don't get why people were bitching about him in the Hall of Fame. Vince's limo driver is in there for God's sake.

why do you guys think he was never even pushed towards the ic title. They had Savage, Steamboat, Honky, Warrior and Rude holding that belt so he was never going to get a title just like a lot of other guys who were there.

just a matter of him being outdone by the other IC level talent on the roster. still though, that dropkick was darn impressive!

its hard to picture Koko being IC champ in 88/89/90.then the iC title was really important to Vince I mean from 87 to92 look who held it
Savage Steamboat Honky Ultimate Warrior Rick Rude Mr Perfect Kerry Von Erich Bret Hart Davey Boy HBK
hard to see where Koko would get a shot.......I still think WWF should have had 3 singles belts in that time.they sure had the talent pool

I can't think off the top of my head, are there any African American wrestlers during the 80's that were over enough to get a realistic Championship run? The IC title was the workrate title, and Koko, despite a couple fancy moves, wasn't really a good wrestler. At least not in the likes of Savage, Steamboat, Tito, etc.

But I don't know how that would have worked out. He couldn't take the strap from Honky (Heel vs Heel wouldn't happen), the Warrior definitely would never dropped it to him. Anyways I don't think Koko should have had a championship run as well. I'm a fan of his work but there were plenty of other guys who were entitled to the strap more so then him. But I think he should have been a contender for the tag titles in 92. High Energy vs Money INC would have been nice. I don't know why everyone is crapting on Koko he wasn't the worse wrestler ever, but I do agree he wasn't a Savage or Steamboat. His intro match with Rick Martel from WM6 was pretty good to me.

That was a sweet move. He was never pushed for the IC title because back then it meant something. It wasn't thrown around like it is now a days and won by some guy in the crowd (debut of Santino). Besides he was nothing compared to savage, tito, etc. like someone stated. Yeah i would say african americans never got any credit in the 80's and sadly i thin it was bc of hogan How was it because of Hogan?
