Hey all, Take it easy on me, I'm new to the customizing stuff, but have been doing the figure fed stuff for a while. For the belts, I used a piece of actual leather from a craft store. The plates are cut from a shiny gold piece of poster paper, decorated with thin fine point sharpies (I'm not very artistic, that's why they're simple). And there's velcro on the ends so they wrap around the waist. Oh, and for the record, those are for my two feds. IoW is Innovators of Wrestling (ROH style indy fed), singles, women's, and tag titles. The bottom four are APEX Wrestling (Chikara-style), singles and trios titles.

They look good. Simple but effective because after all they would be small.

Especially if you have a good printer. Just make sure to laminate the plates and glue them to a leater (or simulated leather) strap. There are also some little gold "pin" type things that look just like the snaps on the belts. These are "re-leathered" Jakks and ToyBiz/Marvel belts:

I love the fact the we have been seeing so many GI Joe customs over the past several months and I love the idea of the belts, but it seems like you could have put in some more creative effort into them. I won't deny that my artistic ability is absolutely zero. So criticism of the design of the plates is well warranted. But as someone else put, they are small and look alright on a figure. Here is one I just took. To see how it looks around the waist as well as on the shoulder. EDIT: And to Sello, yours look fantastic. I don't think I have a printer that could produce that quality a printout. Or else I'd probably put more work into it. Still learning the ropes of customs.

Thanks, but the belts actually aren't mine. They are made by an eBay seller that I have been buying belts from for years. He has been talking about closing his store so I may try to take over for him. But getting back to the post... now that I see a comparision pic, I think the belts might be a little to big for the GI Joe figures. You have a great idea though, like I said, I have always loved the GI Joe customs. I think it's because when I was really little I used my GI Joes as wrestlers. Your belts will work well with the new Build and Brawl line coming out as well.
