UPDATED 3/4/09
Hey again everyone. More Friday the 13th goodies! Today I finished up my 2009 Remake hockey mask. This one was tough to get a paint job on that I was satisfied. The triangles/chevrons were a complete pain in the ass. But I'm very happy with how it turned out in the end. The mask itself is made by NECA. But they did a terrible paint job on the product. It's a factory paint job and doesn't look that great at all. There's no weathering or damage on the mask when you first open it. It's smooth with painted on "scars". So I looked at as many pics as I could gather of the mask to make sure the damage spots are as accurate as possible. But the mold of the mask is a recast of the film used masks so the shape and size is very accurate. It's a heavy piece. Much heavier than the previous masks I've done which were made of a PVC type material. The remake mask is made of resin. I spent a lot of time on this paint job as well. It's a complete and total rehaul of the paint job already featured on the mask.

Hey everyone! In 1984, movie producers had decided enough was enough and did their best to "kill Jason off" in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. But we all know how that went. One year later, we were given Friday the 13th part V: A New Beginning.
SPOILERS...
When all was said and done with "A New Beginning" a lot of fans were left with a bad taste in their mouth. Why? Well it seems that the movie folks had pulled a fast one. Jason was dead afterall! (yeah right) and in Friday V the killer was revealed to be psychotic paramedic Roy Burns who had came to the camp and discovered that his intellectually- disabled son Joey had been hacked to bits. In order to exact revenge on everyone at the camp, Roy donned a Jason-like costume in order to make it appear as if Jason was back from the dead. Naturally, Roy Failed. And he failed in the hearts of a lot of fans even though Friday V boasted the highest body count in the series up to that point. But as most things do, Friday the 13th part V has began to get better with time in the hearts and minds of Friday the 13th fans. Though I can honestly say it's always been a consistent favorite of mine, it seems that it's growing more and more acceptance amongsts fans. Yet with that newfound acceptance, we still have yet to be given a release of a Roy Burns action figure to accompany our Friday the 13th collections!
This has always left a major hole in my collection. Roy is just as much a part of the Friday world as any character. I've always wanted a figure of Roy to stick amongst my numerous Jason figures. With that, I decided to make my own.
Take into account that I've never been much of a customizer. I used to do part switches with wrestling figures and VERY minor paint details. But in the last year or two I've taken up the mask painting hobby as most of you have seen here
So I knew the mask wouldn't be much of a stretch as far as painting went. I had an extra mask from another Jason figure. I painted it up in the form of Roy and I was pretty happy with how it turned out. The body choice was rather easy. I had an extra Michael Myers figure and Roy and Michael wore very similar attire. So I painted the attire a bit and dirtied it up a bit more.
The head was the biggest challenge. I had to do an entire head sculpt. I used the eyes and ears of a WWE figure. Other than that, I sculpted the entire head and painted the skin tone on the head, neck and hands of the figure as well as added the blood to the hands. It was a LOT of work.
So without further ado and way too much typing I present to you my Friday the 13th part V: A New Beginning Roy Burns. He looks awesome amongst my other Jason figures. I may take some pics of that eventually.

and now pics of the custom. Let me know what you think and thanks for looking!
