WWE RAW
January 1st, 2007 ( Week 1 )
Spokane, Washington ( Spokane Arena )
{The WWE opening video plays on the screen of televisions around the world, as the WWE logo fades in and out. Then the words “The Power Is Back” fade onto the screen.}
{The Union Underground’s “Across The Nation” hits and the RAW opening video plays. All sorts of images are shown of different RAW superstars. From Triple H, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, and a ton of others. Vocalist Bryan Scott is shown yelling into his microphone, and finally John Cena holding the WWE Championship high in the air. The video then cuts off and we’re LIVE in the Spokane Arena in Spokane, Washington for the first RAW of the New Year! Two fireworks shoot down from the ceiling and crash into the stage, which ignites tons of other fireworks. “Across the Nation” continues to play, as the camera pans all around the COMPLETELY sold out arena. All sorts of different types of fans are on their feet, as they get ready for RAW. The camera zooms into a female fan about the age of twenty holding a sign that reads “Ms. John Cena” with hearts drawn all around it. The camera view changes back to a view of the entire crowd, then proceeds to zoom in on the main stage. Two wooden podiums are set up at the top of the stage with microphones attached to them. One with a RAW logo on the front of it set up on the left side of the stage, and one with a SmackDown! logo on the front of it set up on the right side of the stage.}
{“No Chance In Hell” blares throughout the arena, and Vince McMahon’s entrance video is shown on the titan tron. The arena is on their feet, and delivers a mixed reaction. The chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment makes his way out from behind the curtains and onto to the top of the stage, STILL receiving a mixed reaction. Vince is sporting a nice Gray suit, with a White dress shirt underneath and a Yellow tie. Some fans continue to boo in disgust at Mr. McMahon, while others show their respect to the chairman by bowing down waving their arms in honor to Mr. McMahon.}
**Lillian Garcia**: “Ladies and gentlemen. Please give a warm welcome to the chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment, Mr. McMahon!”
{Vince struts his way in between the two podiums while holding a microphone in his right hand, and stands in the center of the stage. The music slowly fades away until all that can be heard is the continuous mixed reaction from the fans. Vince lifts the microphone up to his mouth with his right arm and begins to speak. However, before he gets the chance to speak, the crowd cuts him off and begins to chant...}
**Crowd**: “a**hole! a**hole! a**hole! a**hole!”
**Vince McMahon**: “Ladies and gentlemen…”
{Vince McMahon then holds the microphone down in front of himself and looks around at the crowd in disgust. The crowd continues to chant…}
** Crowd**: “a**hole! a**hole! a**hole! a**hole!”
**Jim Ross**: “Wow, King. These fans are really letting Mr. McMahon have it here tonight!”
**Jerry “The King” Lawler**: “Indeed they are, but they better watch out. Mr. McMahon has the power to shut RAW down tonight and that’s not something we want.”
{Vince then lifts the microphone up once again.}
**Vince McMahon**: “Ladies and gentle…”
{The crowd cuts him off once again, and continues to chant…}
** Crowd**: “a**hole! a**hole! a**hole! a**hole!”
{This time, a now angry Mr. McMahon lifts the microphone up one last time. However, instead of speaking, he begins to yell into the microphone.}
**Vince McMahon**: “Damnit, you ungrateful bastards! This is my show! SHUT THE HELL UP!”
**Crowd**: “Booooooooo!”
**Vince McMahon**: “Booo all you damn well want. I’m a business man, and I’m trying to run a damn show here. Show some god damn respect. Now, tonight I promised to make history here in the WWE and that’s damn well exactly what I am going to do. The World Wrestling Entertainment will be holding a 2007 Draft Lottery here tonight. No man or woman is excused from this lottery. Any WWE superstar, diva, or any of the staff members are eligible to be drafted live tonight on RAW.”
**Jim Ross**: “Here that, King? The 2007 Draft Lottery starts here tonight on RAW. We’re starting over fresh here in the WWE for the New Year.”
**Jerry “The King” Lawler**: “Of course I heard him. I wonder who will be drafted here to RAW?”
**Jim Ross**: “Well, whoever it may be. They will be given a great opportunity to make a name for themselves on Monday nights!”
**Vince McMahon**: “Now, this Draft Lottery will be done on two nights. Tonight, RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff and SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long will be out here on those two podiums to… well… debate what exactly goes on here tonight. Backstage I have the lovely Candice Michelle and Jillian Hall drawing names out of a bin. Also, in the locker room is each and every WWE superstar and employee…”
{While Vince continues to speak, a live feed of the WWE locker room is shown with the entire WWE roster sitting in seats according to the show they are presently on. You can see MNM discussing things, along with Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin, amongst many others.}
**Jim Ross**: “Whoa King, the entire WWE roster is here in Spokane, Washington tonight! Rey Mysterio and John Cena, the Heavyweight Champions of each perspective brand under the same roof!”
**Jerry “The King” Lawler**: “Just thing of some of the tension going on between certain superstars from different brands in that locker room. It may turn into an every man for himself brawl tonight!”
**Vince McMahon**: “According to which superstar each General Manager draws, that superstar will make his or her way from that locker room and make their way out to this very stage. That superstar will deliver a speech on his or her thoughts about where he or she has been drafted to, and will then receive a shirt of their selected brand. But that’s not all. I said I was making history and damnit I don’t plan on disappointing. In that very ring tonight, there will be three Inter-promotional matches with RAW superstars facing off against SmackDown! superstars. And in tonight’s RAW main event, will be a one-on-one match with both the RAW superstar drawn number 10 and the SmackDown! superstar drawn number 10. Ladies and gentlemen, this night has only just begun. So without any further ado, the SmackDown! General Manager… Theodore Long!”
{“Holla!” hits over the P.A. system and Theodore Long’s entrance video is shown on the titan tron, as the Mack Militant himself, Theodore Long makes his way strutting through the curtains and out to the RAW stage. The crowd is on their feet for Theodore Long, the fan favorite General Manager. Theodore is wearing a Navy Blue suit with a White dress shirt underneath and a Light Blue tie, while holding a clipboard in his left hand. Theodore shakes Mr. McMahon’s hand and heads over to his podium on the right side of the stage, while his music slowly fades away. Mr. McMahon is shown once against speaking into his microphone.}
**Vince McMahon**: “And now, the RAW General Manager… Eric Bischoff!”
{“I’m Back” hits and the arena explode in “booos”. Eric Bischoff makes his way out to the stage wearing a striped Black and Gray suit, with a White dress shirt underneath and a striped Black a Red tie. Eric is also holding a clipboard in his left hand. However, rather than shaking Mr. McMahon’s hand, Eric heads right to his podium on the left side of the stage. Mr. McMahon then walks past Eric’s podium and gives him an angry look. Vince McMahon then makes his way through the curtains to the backstage area. Bischoff's music fades away slowly as he begins to speak into his microphone.}
**Eric Bischoff**: “Well Theodore. Seeing how this is MY show, I think I’ll start off this Draft Lottery. Ladies if you would kindly.”
{Everyone then directs their attention to the titan tron as Candice Michelle and Jillian Hall are shown backstage in a room of their own with a crate of clear plastic spheres with a folded piece of paper in each ball. Candice Michelle picks out the first ball with her right hand, and opens it with both hands. She then picks out the piece of paper, unfolds it, and reads the name.}
**Candice Michelle**: “The first superstar to be drafted to RAW is… Randy Orton!”
{Mercy Drive’s “Burn In My Light” begins to play as the view of the locker room is show. Randy Orton is shown wearing his trademark Black “tattoo” t-shirt with "rKo" in a Red font of the front and a pair of Black sweatpants. A different camera view zooms in on Orton’s face and he’s both shocked and excited. The excited former SmackDown! superstar, Randy Orton stands up out of his seat and begins to walk towards the door of the locker room. Randy wraps his right hand around the handle of the door and pulls it open. The camera then follows Randy out of the room and through the hallways. A different camera view goes back to the arena, and out comes the “Legend Killer” himself. Randy makes his way through the curtain to an unexpected mixed reaction from the crowd. Orton stands at the top of the stage between each podium and raises his arms in air, posing for the fans. Randy, with a smirk on his face makes his way over to Eric Bischoff as Eric hands him a Red RAW t-shirt. Randy takes off his rKo shirt, exposing his body to the fans. You can clearly hear the females cheering for Randy as he takes the RAW shirt, and slips it on. Eric Bischoff steps away from the podium and allows Randy to take the stand. Randy steps in front of the podium, leans into the microphone and begins to speak as his music slowly fades away.}
**Randy Orton**: “The Legend Killer is back on RAW baby! As the first draftee for RAW, I’d like to congratulate the entire RAW staff for being able to acquire such a great talent as myself. I mean, the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history, and a GREAT third generation superstar. I’m basically unstoppable. And to make this thing short, I just want to say… John Cena… plain and simple. I’m coming for the WWE Championship!”
{Mercy Drive’s “Burn In My Light” hits once again as Randy Orton throws his arms back in the air, posing for the fans once more. The crowd erupts in boo’s for Orton as Eric Bischoff is shown applauding for the newest member to the RAW roster, Randy Orton.}
**Jim Ross**: “That cocky son of a bitch, Randy Orton. I really hope John Cena gives Orton what he has coming to him!”
{Randy walks away from the podium and makes his way to the backstage area by heading through the curtains. Orton’s music slowly fades out and a new view is show of Theodore Long standing at the podium with his clipboard still in hand. Theodore leans towards his microphone and begins to speak.}
**Theodore Long**: “Wow, playa. What a big acquisition for RAW. But playa, now it’s SmackDown!’s turn. Ms. Hall, if you wouldn’t mind doing the honors…”
{The camera changes view once again to backstage. Jillian Hall and Candice Michelle are shown in front of the crate with numerous spheres inside. The time Jillian Hall reaches in and pulls a ball out with her left hand. Jillian opens it with both hands. She then picks out the piece of paper, unfolds it, and reads the name.}
**Jillian Hall**: “And the first draftee for SmackDown! is… Wow… The Undertaker!”
{The camera view changes again. This time the sold out Spokane crowd is on their feet and delivers a very positive reaction. The lights shut off, turning the arena pitch black. The gong hits, as the arena explodes in cheers.}
**Jim Ross**: “Uh oh, King. Here we go!”
*Jerry “The King” Lawler**: “Is The Undertaker in the arena tonight!?”
**Jim Ross**: “I didn’t see him in that locker room, but he is a WWE superstar and Mr. McMahon said that EVERY WWE superstar was here tonight. This could get interesting!”
{The Undertaker’s music blares through the P.A. system, as a wooden Undertaker symbol lowers from the rafters right in front of the titan tron. Eric Bischoff and Theodore Long are both seen very vaguely, as they are both staring at the symbol in astonishment. A bolt of lightning then soars across the arena, striking the symbol and setting it ablaze. Bischoff and Long, now a bit easier to see, jump back and now have a look of fear in their eyes. The music slowly fades away, until all that can be heard is the sound of the crowd. Over the P.A. system The Undertaker’s voice is heard…}
**The Undertaker**: “The Undertaker remains on SmackDown! For those in the SmackDown! locker room, get ready. Because you will all… rest… in… peace…”
{The gong sounds once again and The Undertaker’s music begins to play once again. The entire arena are still standing and cheering for the dead man. The lights turn on and Eric Bischoff is show frightened, crouched behind his podium. Theodore Long is show laughing. Long leans forward and begins to speak into his microphone.}
**Theodore Long**: “Haha. Well, playa. Business has just picked up… haha.”
**Jerry “The King” Lawler**: “Wow, JR. What a first round! Randy Orton is heading back over to RAW to make an impact on John Cena. While The Undertaker remains on SmackDown! and has just delivered a very threatening speech to the entire SmackDown! roster. I wonder what else will happen tonight!?”
**Jim Ross**: “Well King, we’re just getting started here tonight. We still have the main event of the number 10 draftees for both RAW and SmackDown! to go one-on-one tonight on RAW!”
