kinda similar to the latest DVD or last Movie you watched thread.
we will say anything previous to 2008 qualifies.Ill go first........
I recently watched:
Kurt Angle vs HBK:Iron Man match.
excellent effort by both men.
I then watched Angle kicking Ortons ass at ONS 2006.
how about you folks?

Mr. Perfect vs. Bret Hart - 1993 King of the Ring
Great match and IMO slightly better than their SummerSlam encounter.

hardly a classic match here, but I was thinking about making a "good, solid wrestling matches" thread before I saw this one. but instead i'll just include the match I watched here.
Rick Martel vs. Booker T at SuperBrawl VII for the WCW Television Title
I love this match. The crowd was super hot, really behind Booker (back when he was an A+ worker) and frequently chanted "Martel sucks!" The pop when Booker reaches the ropes while in the Quebec Crab is tremendous. About a ***1/2 star match and it's really a shame Martel got injured because he was in great shape here.

Scott Steiner vs Goldberg at Fall Brawl 2000. Steiner had a mask on because he had a fractured eye socket and he was right to.........a super stiff, seesaw, power move fest. best bit?when Steiner leaps off the top rope and Goldberg catches him...... and proceeds to do weight lifts with him over his head then a powerslam-amazing its honestly one of my favorite matches.I was so dissapointed with Steiner in WWE in 2003

The 2004 Royal Rumble. I love that Rumble, my absolute favorite. It really was a tremendously booked rumble, and it was special to me because it was the first rumble I got to see live on PPV and I was a huge Benoit mark. But I still can't bring myself to watch any Benoit matches yet. I was watching SuperBrawl VII the other night and there's so much creppy crapwith Benoit there. First off, he has a "Leath Strap Death Match" with Sullivan, and he's accompanied by Woman. And then during the match Sullivan does a hangman with the strap to Benoit. Which is of course how Benoit killed himself. Jesus.

Undertaker vs Ken Shamrock at Backlash 99.
IMO a great match...its a pity the crowd wasnt into it though.
I agree about the 2004 Rumble too.......there was a lot of people that could have won the Rumble that year......you really didnt know who was gonna take it.

The matches were all "squashes," but I recently re-watched my old recorded episode of TBS World Championship Wrestling from December 1987, and the WWF Superstars or Wrestling episode I taped after it.
TBS show had squash matches with: -- Steve "Dr. Death" Williams -- Barbarian (with Warlord & Paul Jones at ringside) -- Midnight Express (with Jim Cornette on commentary and Big Bubba Rogers at ringside) -- Ricky Morton & Sting (as a tag team) -- Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin -- Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson (with JJ Dillon) -- Road Warriors (with Paul Ellering) -- Mike Rotunda -- Larry Zbyszko (with Baby Doll)
But the extra-long, vintage promos were the best part. Ric Flair did one solo, Tully & Arn did one by themselves, the three of them did one together (which turned into a melee when Michael Hayes came out to fight Flair), Road Warriors did a funny one, etc.
WWF Superstars was the episode right before Christmas 1987, hyping up the broadcast of the Slammy Awards that weekend, and highlighted by Hulk Hogan's interview where he refused Ted DiBiase's offer to buy the WWF title.
Squash matches had the Hart Foundation, Randy Savage, Don Muraco, Koko B. Ware, Ron Bass and more.
