I point the gun at his chest.
Kite: What are you doing?
Twenty minutes earlier
Why the hell am I here?
Voice: I asked you that earlier, but you wouldn’t listen.
Get out of my head, I am not crazy.
Voice: If you were not crazy then how can you hear me?
I cant argue with the logic.
Kite: Are you listening?
I snap out of my trance, and remember where I am.
Trace: Yeah, don’t worry about me.
We are in some underground generator plant; Kite wants to turn the whole thing down, practically halting life in the cities near by. We split up; me and Kite are heading to the main generator room, on the top floor. Roxy and Brute have gone to the bottom floor, to find some kind of control centre.
I walk a few steps behind Kite, each footstep hitting the metallic floor sounding like a drum beat.
Trace: Are you sure that there is no security down here?
He looks back at me, his eyes look intent on what he has planned, a mix of anger and disillusionment.
Kite: Of course that there is nobody down here.
His voice is shaky, as if he is not sure of the answer himself. Surprisingly that does not make me feel any better about this. I reach down, feeling the gun in my right pocket, still unsure why Kite gave it to me if he thought that there would be nobody here.
Voice: I am so bored.
Shut Up!
Voice: Fine, be that way.
This is going to be a long night.
We turn a corner into a lit corridor, the entire corridor is a silvery metallic material, I would give you an actual type of metal, but I always sucked at that kind of stuff.
Trace: So what are we actually doing here?
Kite turns, and as he talks I can hear the anger in his voice.
Kite: We are going to find the generator, and set destroy it.
Trace: How?
He’s staring daggers at me now.
Trace: Fine, I’ll just follow and listen.
Kite: Good.
Voice: What a…
Shut it!
Voice: You ruin all my fun.
I asked you to shut up, didn’t I?
Voice: Maybe.
I continue walking, lost in my own thoughts and the voices constant talking that I did not even realize when Kite stopped, and I nearly ended up walking right into the back of him.
Kite: There it is.
I look past Kite and set my sights onto a monstrous metallic creature, which must be the generator.
Kite: Glorious, isn’t it.
I reach down for the gun.
Kite: Right, so go down there and set this on the side.
Kite turns and comes face to face with the gun.
I point the gun at his chest.
Kite: What are you doing?
Trace: Wait and see.
