Same Day, Same Story
(Dwyane Wade)
Dwyane Wade has made a career out of silencing the doubters. From his rise as an unheralded recruit who led Marquette University to the Final Four, to winning the NBA Championship and Finals MVP in his third NBA season, to recently helping the U.S. bring home gold in Beijing – Wade continues to exceed expectations on the court. For the start of the 2008-09 season, Converse announced a new advertising campaign to showcase Wade’s ability to rise above his critics and achieve success. “Same Day, Same Story” which began airing on October 28, 2008 to coincide with the new Converse WADE 4 signature basketball shoe.
Converse’s national campaign is inspired by Wade overcoming doubters throughout his playing career. The spot opens with a flashback of Wade waking up in his Marquette dorm room to a radio alarm clock and sports talk personalities discussing his academic ineligibility. The next scene moves ahead to Miami, where sports talk pundits say the Miami HEAT made “a monumental waste of a draft pick” on Wade. The scene jumps ahead again in time as the radio discusses Wade’s injuries. The radio voice in the final scene comments on Wade’s performance in Beijing, and the spot ends with Wade grabbing a pair of the Converse WADE 4 signature shoes and the words, “Wade’s belief is stronger than your doubt.”
“No matter how many times I proved myself in college and the NBA, I’ve felt like every day is the same because no matter how far I go, the criticism and doubt it still there,” said Wade. “I’ve always felt that my ability is way stronger than anything people can say about me. After winning gold in Beijing, I’m excited to take the court again this season and continue to prove the doubters wrong.”

Jordan Talks About Dwyane Wade by Janet Cronin
Michael Jordan was interviewed earlier today on the Miami Radio Show. He was asked question on Miami's Dwyane Wade. One of the question was "Tell us your thoughts on Dwyane Wade?" He simply replied back, "Without a doubt he is one of the best NBA players today." He continued " Without Dwyane Wade their would be no Miami Heat winning the NBA 2005-2006 NBA Championships. Their would be no Miami Heat ranked as one of the best teams." Before the Radio Show ended a final question was asked. "Do you want to return to the court?" Michael Jordan then said, "Yes, but I already had my time in the court. Now it is for guys like Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant to be one of the best."

Wow you've gone a lot more in depth in this since the last time I replied. Love all of the little news articles and stuff your posting. Sucks that your not doing so hot without Wade. Hopefully he gets better and you can start winning again. It's great that your write ups are a bit shorter now, and they don't take so long to read. Hopefully your team becomes better when all of your injuries return. Nice job.

- Dear lord, 125 pts. That's a rarity nowadays. - Troy Murphy scoring 56 points is a shocker. I never thought he was that good. - Sucks to see that Wade is still out, but the Heat continue to score a decent amount of points. - Unless i missed something, didnt really seem like O'Neal was involved that much in the game. - I'm shocked that the pacers only missed 1 3 pointer. - I guess Wade is a huge reason to your success. - Still, a good read and liked the length again.

Breaking News: Dwyane Wade Back??
11/23/08- It has been reported Dwyane Wade will return/play on the 24th against the Rockets. Without Dwyane Wade on the Miami Heat, the Heat had the worst streak in the NBA this season. Dwyane Wade will get the Heat up and running and maybe into the Final 4 of the NBA Championships.

Tough loss, Wade needs to come back asap. Surprised Murphy had 56 points, and if he did score that much don't put that he "averaged about 56 points" just say that he scored 56 points. Also, Murphy hit a buzzer beater to end the game, despite his team being up by 20...that's just disrespectful.

Man this diary has been amazing. really makes me want to do a cleveland diary, haha. love all the little extra news updates. I really believe soon this is HOF worthy. The games look much better than the last time I read them, much more neat and the scores look alot better. Interesting how much of a help Wade is as you've been losing alot without him. Keep up the good work. but, Lebron > Wade

Haier Shooting Stars Competition
The Rules
The objective of the Haier Shooting Stars competition is for each team to make all shots from six locations in the fastest time. The shots must come in order numbered on the floor.
Each team chooses a specific order of shooting (Player 1, 2 and 3) and each shot must be made before the next player begins shooting.
The Order
Shot 1: 10-foot bank shot from right-side angle (Player 1) Shot 2: 15-foot shot from left side-angle (Player 2) Shot 3: NBA 3-point shot from top of the arc/straight on (Player 3) Shot 4: 18-foot shot from right-side baseline (Player 1) Shot 5: NBA 3-Pt. shot from left side angle (Player 2) Shot 6: Shot from just inside half-court/straight on (Player 3, Player 1, Player 2, repeat)
Each team is given two minutes to complete the course. The clock will start at 0 and stop by the referee's whistle when the team makes Shot 6. If a team doesn't complete all six shots as of the 2:00 mark, the horn will sound and their score will be based upon the total number of shots completed.
The two teams with the fastest times advance to the final round. In the case of a tie, a shoot-off will be used to break the tie. The clock will be reset (a time limit of 1:00 will be imposed) and the team that makes Shot 6 in the shortest amount of time will, depending on the round, either advance to the finals or be declared champions.
