i like that you did the real life trade to get Jermanine O' Neal and hope he is a good asset to your team both in the game and in real-life but Shawn Marion was a good player back in the day. Can't wait to see you face Dallas, LA Lakers or Boston! Oh this is Chris Bosh

I remember when the scores use to be in like 60-40 which completely turn me off from this diary. But, now you've got realistic scores so I'm back to enjoying this.
Your games have quite the amount of detail. Which is good, but perhaps too much. A summary of each quarter could be better suited rather than being so descriptive.
I must give you credit with doing something different and its enjoyable read now with the realistic scores.
Just perhaps tone down description of games. Also, what difficulty do you play on? You've lost only one game, i hope you don't end up with less than 25 loses.
Good read.

It was a disappointed night for the Miami Heat.

The length of the description is much better. Interested in seeing how you would do without Wade, and obviously you didnt do too well. But that is expected. One thing, through reading it, seemed really repetitive ".. jammed the ball with authority" is something i saw an awful lot.
Good read, and with the change in length, alot easier.

Curious to see how you do without Wade. Liked the shortened length, it makes it more interesting to read. Sounds like Granger sort of stepped up there. I felt like you used the word "authority" quite a bit. I figured you would lose without Wade as well, makes sense. Again ironic that it was Heat/Raptors because of the Jermaine/Marion trade.

This is going good. I like the shorter descriptions although I'd agree that you overused "authority". Anyway, I like that you actually did the O'Neal/Marion deal and I hope Wade comes back soon.

This is a pretty cool diary, since i like basketball, its fun to read a diary about it. Sucks you lost the last two, but 9-2 isnt bad. I figure you will do good in the next stretch, because the only challenge is Houston.

NEW YORK, NOV. 19, 2008– The NBA today announced the launch of its third annual Noche Latina event, a program that recognizes the NBA’s fans and players from across Latin America and U.S. Hispanic communities. Noche Latina will take place in eight of the top 10 U.S. Hispanic markets this season (up from four in 2007-08): Los Angeles, Miami, Phoenix, San Antonio, Dallas, Chicago, Houston and New York. “The NBA has one of the largest and fastest-growing Hispanic fan bases in U.S. professional sports, and we want to continue building their interest in the game through participation, programming and events,” said Saskia Sorrosa, Sr. Director of Marketing for the NBA. “This initiative celebrates the NBA’s unique and dynamic fan base with a focus on our Spanish-speaking communities.” Noche Latina, first launched during the 2006-07 season, will feature celebratory uniforms developed in conjunction with La Agencia de Orci & Asociados, a U.S. Hispanic agency, to display the team name as spoken by the Latino population. Rather than translating the team names literally, market research concluded that Spanish-speakers in the U.S. refer to them differently. The Miami Heat, for example, is called “El Heat”; the San Antonio Spurs are “Los Spurs.” Noche Latina uniforms were carefully selected based on the uniforms that had the most affinity within the Hispanic population. Starting February 21, the NBA will hold local events in each participating city leading up to Noche Latina, including visits by streetball teams to Hispanic events and neighborhoods where they will perform basketball tricks and distribute branded giveaways. To further honor Latino fans and players during Noche Latina games, participating Noche Latina NBA teams will host in-arena themed activities ranging from Latin music to performances and giveaways. Noche Latina jerseys, t-shirts, and headwear will be available at the NBA Store on 5th Avenue, NBAStore.com, and in-arena stores for participating teams Noche Latina 2009 tips off on Tuesday, March 3, when the Los Angeles Lakers host the Memphis Grizzlies. On Wednesday, March 4, the Noche Latina doubleheader opens with the San Antonio Spurs heading to Dallas, where both teams will wear Noche Latina uniforms, followed by the New York Knicks visiting the Atlanta Hawks. Noche Latina continues with two Miami Heat home games, the first against the Chicago Bulls on Monday, March 9, and the second against the Utah Jazz on Saturday, March 14. On the same Saturday, the Phoenix Suns will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder at home. The Spurs face the NBA champion Boston Celtics on Friday, March 20, followed by Noche Latina games on back-to-back nights, Wednesday, March 25, with the Mavericks vs. the Golden State Warriors and Thursday, March 26, with the Bulls vs. the Heat. The program concludes on Saturday, March 28, when the Houston Rockets host the Los Angeles Lakers. Why We Love the HEAT? by Janet Cronin, HEAT Season Ticket Holder
In 1988, during the HEAT’s inaugural season, the team held a contest to pick its name. Of course, my husband, Joe, had to enter. Even though he did not win the grand prize of season tickets, out of 20,000 entries, he was still one of the 125 to choose the name “The HEAT.” He still has the letter framed on his den wall to prove it.
Joe and I have been avid basketball fans all of our lives, so there was no doubt we would be HEAT Season Ticket Holders that first year and every year after. We proudly admit to bleeding “HEAT red” and have gone to great lengths to support our team. Over the years, we have traveled all over the country to cheer for the HEAT, during both the regular season and definitely during the playoffs. Our HEAT travels have taken us to the following cities: Orlando, Atlanta, Boston Washington New Jersey, Detroit, Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Indiana.
When it comes to spreading the news about the HEAT, we take it to a new level. Over the years, Joe has passed out over 500 pairs of Miami HEAT shoelaces to anyone who professes to be a HEAT fan! When they stopped making HEAT laces, he started passing out HEAT bracelets. On the other hand, I have lost track of the number of extra posters and other free goodies I have requested and received from the HEAT to give to my students. I even mailed a bunch for my nephews to share with fans in Virginia and West Virginia.
In addition, we cannot say enough to others about how great the HEAT treats its fans. To begin, Joe was randomly chosen to participate in a foul shooting contest and won a trip to Washington, D.C. to see our beloved team play. Then there is the time when I filled out a slip of paper before a game and was chosen to have dinner and a private practice (with Joe and 12 other fans) with Caron Butler. Boy, did we get a workout!
Another year during the playoffs, we filled out a fan questionnaire and won an autographed Shaquille O’Neal jersey (We still can not believe how big it is!) Finally, last year, we entered the announcing contest and, yes, HE WON! It was so cool when they introduced him at a game, had him present his winning cheer, and then presented him with a pair of autographed D.Wade sneakers. We tell anyone who will listen about the HEAT’s many other special events and gifts offered to HEAT Season Ticket Holders on a regular basis.
Yes, according to us, Joe and Janet Cronin, there is no greater team in all of professional sports when it comes to making it fans feel special than the Miami HEAT. We plan on spending many more years spreading the word as the HEAT continues on the road to another championship.

Alonzo Mourning Announces His Retirement
MIAMI, 11/20/09– After a sterling NBA career that spanned 15 seasons and saw him capture an NBA championship with the HEAT in 2006, seven All-Star berths and twice being named the Defensive Player of the Year, Miami HEAT great Alonzo Mourning announced his retirement. Mourning, who also captured a gold medal with the United States Senior National team at the 2000 Olympics, appeared in 838 games with the HEAT, Charlotte Hornets and New Jersey Nets and averaged 17.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.81 blocked shots, 1.1 assists and 31.0 minutes while shooting 52.7 percent from the floor and 69.2 percent from the foul line during his career. He finished his professional career with 14,311 points, 7,137 rebounds and 2,356 blocks (10th all-time in NBA history).
Mourning, who was originally acquired by the HEAT from the Hornets on Nov. 3, 1995 and re-signed as a free agent on Mar. 1, 2005, is Miami’s all-time leader in games played with 593. The 6’10”, 261-pound center also tops the HEAT’s all-time lists in points scored (9,459), minutes played (17,700), free throws made (2,558) and attempted (3,896), offensive rebounds (1,505), defensive rebounds (3,302), total rebounds (4,807), blocked shots (1,625) and double-figure scoring efforts (442). Additionally, he finished his career as the all-time leader in blocked shots in Hornets history with 684 in his three seasons. Mourning also ranks as the HEAT’s all-time postseason leader in games played (82), offensive rebounds (137), defensive rebounds (386), total rebounds (523) and blocks (171).
Originally selected with the second overall pick in the 1992 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets and a member of the 1992-93 NBA All-Rookie team, Mourning enjoyed his finest seasons as a member of the HEAT. Mourning made an immediate impact in his first season in Miami, becoming the first HEAT player selected to play in an All-Star Game in 1995-96. He was named the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year and earned First Team All-Defensive Team honors in both the 1998-99 and 1999-00 seasons after leading the league in blocked shots each season. He still ranks as the only player in HEAT history to be selected to the NBA All-Defensive First Team. During the 1998-99 season he earned First Team All-NBA honors and the following season he received Second Team All-NBA honors and finished third in the MVP voting.
In addition to his exploits on the court, Mourning is revered as a community leader for his tireless commitment off the court. For his efforts he received the NBA’s J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award for the 2001-02 season and twice was a recipient of the NBA Community Assist Award (July 2006 and July 2008). He founded Alonzo Mourning Charities to raise money for various organizations, including the Overtown Youth Center, that support abused and neglected children as well as children who live in at-risk situations. Zo’s Summer Groove, his foundation’s flagship fund raising event has raised an estimated $7 million in its 12 years and Zo’s Fund For Life, which he formed during the 2001-02 season, has raised $2 million for kidney research and to help provide medication to families that cannot afford it. Zo’s Fund for Life was formed after he learned he was diagnosed with focal glomerulosclerosis, a degenerative kidney ailment at the start of the 2000-01 season. He later would have kidney transplant surgery on Dec. 19, 2003 before returning to the NBA for the 2004-05 season.

Updated on D. Wade
11/20/09- We just got through a updated on one of the best Basketball Players in the NBA today. Dwyane Wade is in very bad condition currently. We don't know whether he is going to remain out of the season for a while or if he is going to just have to play the games. We asked Dwyane Wade himself and he said that if Head Coach Erik wants him to play, he'll play. Other then that, he'll try and make a speedy recovery.
