March 10th, 2009 E Center in West Valley City, Utah Attendance: 9,106
The weekly video package plays and it highlights Matt Hardy and Tommy Dreamer’s victory over Elijah Burke and Jack Swagger last week.
After the opening fireworks display, Todd Grisham and Matt Striker welcome us to another exciting edition of ECW. They announce that tonight we will see a rematch from No Way Out when Jack Swagger takes on TV Champion Evan Bourne in non-title action.
They are interrupted by the theme music of the General Manager here at ECW, Theodore Long. He comes out and announces that tonight we will witness the official contract signing for the ECW Title match at WrestleMania between Elijah Burke & Matt Hardy. He then makes the announcement that if Jack Swagger can defeat Evan Bourne tonight, he will get a TV Title shot in the near future. His final announcement is that tonight we will see Jimmy Wang Yang take on John Morrison in a Money in the Bank qualifying match. Before he leaves, the arena goes dark and Kevin Thorn is shown on screen in a dark area. He cuts a promo about how he plans to take over ECW. ECW will belong to him and his “minions” very soon. The lights come back on and Theodore Long looks on confused and a little scared.
Commercial Break.
Money in the Bank Qualifying Match Jimmy Wang Yang vs. John Morrison w/ The Miz
This turned out to be one of the better Money in the Bank qualifying matches so far. Yang got in a lot of offense despite a lot of people thinking this would be a squash. Morrison nailed him with a spinning heel kick and followed that up with a big superkick, but Yang kicked out. Yang got back on the offensive and went for his top rope moonsault but Morrison got out of the way. As Yang got up, Morrison drilled him with the Moonlight Drive.
Winner: John Morrison (6:17) **¾
Commercial Break.
We are shown the announcement that Howard Finkle will be the next inductee to the Hall of Fame and he will be inducted by Chris Jericho. It then shows the news that actor Mickey Rourke will also be at ‘Mania and will serve as a special guest ring announcer.
Singles Match Gavin Spears vs. Mark Henry w/ Tony Atlas
Everyone who watched this match expected this to be a complete, total squash. At first, it seemed like that would happen as Henry dominated Spears. He nailed plenty of big moves, yet to everyone’s surprise, Spears kept kicking out. Spears kicked out of everything the mammoth Henry would throw at him. This really got the crowd behind Spears and that led to him getting some offense in. He hit a few dropkicks and a jawbreaker, but Henry wouldn’t go down. He finally knocked him down when he hit a missile dropkick. Henry took back over though and ended the spirited run of Gavin Spears with the World’s Strongest Slam.
Winner: Mark Henry (6:02) **½
The crowd gave Spears a spirited ovation as Henry left the ring.
Commercial Break.
In the back, DJ Gabriel is being interviewed. He talks about dancing his way to the top of ECW and that he has his eyes locked on the ECW TV Title. He is interrupted by the ECW Original, Tommy Dreamer, who says that dancing to the ECW will never work and that DJ Gabriel should take his career seriously. Gabriel takes offense to this and tells Dreamer that he’s going to dance over him on Velocity this week.
Non-Title Singles Match Television Champion Evan Bourne vs. Jack Swagger
This wasn’t as good as their big match at No Way Out, but it was still very good. Swagger seemed to be less confident in this match because Bourne has proven that he can beat him already. Bourne started off with some high flying moves as he hit his double knees and a standing moonsault early on. Swagger fought back with some mat work and some big shoulder thrusts in the corner. After a few minutes of going back and forth, Swagger ended this one with his gutwrench powerbomb.
Winner: Jack Swagger (8:21) ***¼
We cut to the back where we see Elijah Burke and Matt Hardy walking to the ring on a split screen.
Commercial Break.
Teddy Long and Tiffany are in the ring when we return from commercial. The ring is set up with a table in the middle as it usually is for these contract signings. Elijah Burke comes out first and he is then followed by the ECW Champion, Matt Hardy. Both men agree to the terms of the contract and they sign the contract. Teddy Long asks for a handshake between the two. Matt looks reluctant to do it, but he shakes the extended hand of Elijah Burke. As he shakes it, Burke pulls him in and lays him out with a punch. He keeps beating on Matt and then hits him with the Elijah Experience through the table as the show went off the air.

Elijah Burke vs. Matt Hardy for the ECW Champion will be awesome. I can't wait to read the match. Wow, loving Burke in this diary. Hopefully Morrison gets in the MITB match. He can do a lot of amazing stuff on their. Kevin Thorn coming back is awesome. Will he come back as his old gimmick in 2004? Awesome to see John Morrison in the MITB. I can tell he will do some amazing bumps in this match. Mark Henry getting some wins here and there is great. Nice to see him get a little push. Dang it, Swagger won. I wanted Bourne to remain victorious. Glad it's a non-title match. I enjoyed ECW. It was a great show. Wrestle-Mania looks amazing. Not too sure about Cody Rhodes in the MITB. I wonder who will be the last qualifier. The HOF looks amazing.

ECW was your average show to be honest. Thorn's promo at the beginning of the show was cool, hope to see him get a push in the future. Morrison vs Yang vs great, the right man definitely went over in that match. Morrison to win Money in the Bank. Henry getting the win makes sense, he has to be kept strong. Main event was a solid match, Swagger getting the wins sets up for the TV Championship match in the near future, see Evan Bourne retaining the title in that match. Ending segment was nicely writen, still going with Burke to win the ECW Championship at wrestlemania 25.

Wasn't a huge fan of Morrison/Yang being a MITB qualifier, usually MITB qualifiers are more competitive matches than that. Good win for Henry there. Fine stuff with DJ/Dreamer. Swagger winning was good since it was non-title. Good way to end the show there. It seems like Burke/Hardy was set up a long time ago.

ECW was realistic enough. I'm liking the Hardy/Burke feud, Morrison was always going to qualify over Yang. I really liked the Kevin Thorn bit, really interesting for future shows. Swagger vs. Bourne would have been a good solid match too. The MITB match looks insane! Though i don't know who i want to win. Probably Shelton or Morrison.

-The WWE plans to host a draft sometime in either April or May. Expect them to make an official announcement before WrestleMania. -Speaking of WrestleMania, expect at least two, maybe three more matches to be announced to fill out the card. -As we recently announced, the WWE signed independent standout, 21 year old Tyler Black. They're expected to bring him up pretty quickly, within two months or so already. -It's almost all but confirmed that Shawn Michaels will be retiring this spring and it's possible that WrestleMania 25 could be his last match.

ECW was a great show. Liked the Thorn segment, interested to see what you do with him. MITB qualifier is okay, wish you would've found someone other than Yang to lose though. Glad you fixed your little error you had there with the HOF. Interesting match between Spears/Henry. I wonder what you plan on doing with Spears, if anything after that match seeing as though the crowd gave him an ovation. Like the Dreamer/Gabriel setup for Velocity. Good that Swagger won so that there will be another match between Bourne/Swagger for the title, just hope Bourne retains. Great contract signing, glad Burke got the upper hand in it. Draft sounds good, not too soon after 'Mania though. Good idea to sign Black and hope Michaels has a last hoorah of some sort.

Sucks to see the Michaels is retiring. ECW was good, and nice to see Morrison getting in the money in the bank. good match between Swagger and Bourne, hopefully you give both a push and keep them in the main scheme of things for ECW, and possibly move Hager off the brand in the future. Wrestlemania looks fantastic, and im pulling for Cena to lose in the Main Event, and Edge to defeat Hardy. Cant wait for Smackdown.

March 13th, 2009 Casper Events Center in Casper, Wyoming Attendance: 9,623
Smackdown kicks off with the usual opening video package highlighting Edge getting the victory over The Undertaker last week. It then ends by showing Kane chokeslamming his brother once again, this time, through a table.
Tazz and Jim Ross welcome us to Wyoming and this edition of Smackdown. They hype up tonight’s huge six man main event and they announce the participants in tonight’s final Money in the Bank qualifying match. It will be the United States Champion Hurricane Helms taking on former Intercontinental Champion, William Regal. They also remind us that it The New Hart Foundation will get the WWE Tag Team Title shot that they earned last week.
Once the show begins, we are joined by the number one contender for the WWE Title, Edge. He gets in the ring and gloats about beating The Undertaker last week. He said that Jeff Hardy needs to look at that and know that Edge always gets the job done and he will do it again at WrestleMania. They will culminate their rivalry which goes all the way back to 1999 when they were both part of tag teams. He wraps up the promo by hyping up their match at WrestleMania even more and saying that he will prove that he’s better than Jeff once and for all.
Commercial Break.
WWE Tag Team Championship Carlito & Primo (c) vs. The New Hart Foundation w/ Natalya Neidhart
Since their arrival on Smackdown, The New Hart Foundation has wanted a shot at the Tag Team Titles and they got their wish tonight. Both teams went back and forth for a while and Primo took a beating at one point until he made the hot tag to his big brother Carlito. He came in and nailed both Wilson and Smith and seemed to be getting his team closer to victory. He nailed Smith with the Back Cracker, but Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder ran into the ring and beat on both teams.
Double DQ (8:22) **¾
Hawkins and Ryder continued the beat down in the ring and even brought in chairs to lay out the other teams. They ended it with a con-chair-to, a move they must’ve picked up from hanging around with Edge, on Primo and posed in the ring with the WWE Tag Team Titles.
Commercial Break.
The Hall of Fame announcement of Howard Finkle’s induction is made and the announcement that Chris Jericho will be inducting him. We then get the news that actor Mickey Rourke will be at WrestleMania 25 and will serve as a special guest ring announcer.
We cut backstage, where Shane McMahon is walking backstage and is stopped by Mr. Kennedy. He complains about losing last week to MVP in the Money in the Bank qualifying match and he kept saying that it was fluke. Shane cut him off and said that regardless if it was a fluke or not, he lost. He will get a chance to show how good he is tonight when he takes on R-Truth. Kennedy doesn’t seem to like the news but then says that he lost his Money in the Bank briefcase because he put it up for grabs. So he’s going to beat R-Truth tonight and keep winning until after WrestleMania where he promises to challenge the Money in the Bank winner for the briefcase.
The camera cuts to show MVP backstage talking with Eve Torres. She’s telling him how impressive he’s been lately and MVP thanks her. She then offers to accompany him to ringside tonight and after a kiss on the cheek, MVP agrees.
Commercial Break.
Money in the Bank Qualifying Match United States Champion Hurricane Helms vs. William Regal w/ Layla
Regal and Helms turned in a very good match here that included a fair amount of near falls. The crowd was very much behind Helms here despite Regal being in control for the majority of the match. Helms managed to regain control when he hit a big suicide dive to the outside. They got back into the ring and Helms went for the Shining Wizard but Layla grabbed his leg. He kicked her off and ducked Regal’s punch attempt with brass knuckles and then he nailed Regal with the Nightmare on Helms Street.
Winner: United States Champion Hurricane Helms (7:56) ***
Commercial Break.
As we return from commercial our General Managers Shane McMahon and Vickie Guerrero are shown on the titantron. They both have agreed that this whole situation with Kane & The Undertaker is getting out of hand so they’ve decided that at WrestleMania 25, for the third time in ‘Mania history, the two brothers will go at it. The crowd goes crazy at this announcement.
Singles Match Cody Rhodes vs. Montel Vontavious Porter w/ Eve Torres
Basically a small preview of Money in the Bank and these two delivered. They put on a clinic as Rhodes really got to show how talented he is. They went back and forth with the crowd firmly behind MVP. Rhodes took the advantage when he nailed a near perfect moonsault but only got a two count. He followed that up with a knee drop and then went for a Russian Leg Sweep but MVP reversed it and rolled him up, yet only got a two count. MVP got up before Rhodes and nailed him with the Drive-By for the victory.
Winner: Montel Vontavious Porter (9:02) ***½
After the match, MVP is celebrating in the ring, when the “Gold Standard” Shelton Benjamin comes out and drops him with the Paydirt. He waits for Rhodes to get up, and he nails him with one too. Just like that, Shelton has taken out two of his opponents at WrestleMania. Out of nowhere, big Ezekiel Jackson gets in the ring and completely takes out Benjamin. Right behind Jackson is The Brian Kendrick, dancing and smiling. He picks up Shelton and hits him with The Kendrick. He then looks over the fallen bodies and celebrates as Eve looks on in horror.
Commercial Break.
Non-Title Match Melina w/ Gail Kim vs. Divas Champion Natalya Neidhart w/ Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix
Considering how good both of these women are in the ring, this match didn’t seem to click. Maybe they were just having an off night or they weren’t used to each other. Anyway, Natalya had control during the early parts of the match until Melina made a fiery comeback. She hit her with everything she’s got and once Melina seemed on the verge of winning, Beth ran in and attacked her.
Winner by DQ: Melina (4:51) *¾
Gail jumped in to even the odds and the four women were battling, back and forth. Gail and Melina managed to get the upper hands on their stronger counterparts and knock them to the outside.
Backstage, we see Carlito being interviewed about his brother’s condition after he suffered the con-chair-to earlier. He’s pissed off about it and says that his brother will be out of action for two weeks, but he’ll be back on the last Smackdown before WrestleMania. Carlito finishes it by saying that he’s going to find a way to get his hands on Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder and the New Hart Foundation all at the same time. Quite possibly the best promo he’s cut in recent memory.
Commercial Break.
We return from commercial to see Vickie Guerrero commending Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder on a job well done tonight and told them that they made Edge proud tonight. Hawkins and Ryder glowed at this information. They said he’ll be even more proud when they win back the WWE Tag Team Titles.
Singles Match Mr. Kennedy vs. R-Truth
This was a relatively short match as it was just used to begin Kennedy’s “winning ways” so he can challenge the Money in the Bank winner after WrestleMania. R-Truth started out hot, but cooled off and Kennedy put him away with the Mic Check.
Winner: Mr. Kennedy (4:58) **
Commercial Break.
Six Man Tag Match Edge, Kane w/ Paul Bearer & Umaga vs. WWE Champion Jeff Hardy, The Undertaker & Triple H
Edge seemed to like having the big men on his team, but he did seem worried that the two monsters might just beat him up along with the other team. This match went for a pretty long time and feature two commercial breaks midway. Umaga and Triple H, again seemingly showed pure hatred for each other. Meanwhile, Edge seemed to be reluctant to get in the ring with Jeff, leaving Jeff to be dismantled by Kane and Umaga. Edge came in after Jeff was already beaten and he began to work him over and gloat. His gloating cost him as it allowed Jeff to turn the tide of the match with a jawbreaker and that led to the hot tag being made to the Undertaker. He took out Edge and Umaga, until Edge tagged in Kane. The two brothers stared each other down and began to trade fists back and forth until ‘Taker got the better and dropped his brother with a chokeslam. Kane kicked out and ‘Taker tagged in Triple H. While that was happening, Edge reached in and tagged Kane, who was just getting up. Triple H set Kane up for the Pedigree, but Edge ran in and Speared him and covered for the win.
Winners: Edge, Umaga & Kane (14:16) ***
Edge quickly got out of the ring and up the ramp as Jeff Hardy chased him away. This left Triple H and Umaga fighting at ringside as always which ended as Triple H nailed Umaga in the leg with a chair repeatedly. Kane was outside the ring, while Undertaker was inside and ‘Taker did the throat cut motion as his eyes rolled into the back of his head as we fade out.

Glad Edge-Hardy is getting some hype because it isn't the greatest on paper. You're actually doing a good job with a somewhat lackluster tag team division. Helms is better fit for MITB than Regal is. Like the stuff going on with the other mid-carders like MVP and SHelton. Divas match ending in a DQ made sense. A Kennedy push is fine by me as long as he is cocky and what not as opposed to corny and annoying. Big six-man tag there, I think Kane maybe should've gotten the pin but oh well. It was an okay show, but it was really good in the sense that it built well towards Mania.

Hurricane Helms advancing into the MITB over Regal is fine by me. Helms fits more into the MITB match than Regal does. The Melina/Natalya match ending in a DQ made sense, and I liked the brawl afterwards. Gail and Melina getting the upper hand was cool. Fantastic main event to SmackDown. I love Kane having the mask, and Kane/The Undertaker should be sweet.

Raw 3/16/09 Preview The Champ vs. The Animal -General Managers Vince and Stephanie McMahon announced last week, that this week's Raw main event will be a one on one non-title contest between World Champion John Cena and "The Animal" Batista. These two have only met face to face once before, at SummerSlam last year. Batista came out on top and put Cena out of action for almost 3 months. Will Cena even the score with The Animal or will Batista defeat him once more?
-The Brian Kendrick qualified for the Money in the Bank match last week when he defeated Kofi Kingston. He was then seen dancing around backstage, where Rey Mysterio questioned why he was celebrating so much, when he should save that celebration if he wins Money in the Bank. Kendrick took offense to this and challenged him for this week. Which one of these two will pick up some steam with WrestleMania just a few weeks away?
-Last week on Smackdown, Melina and Natalya went at it in one-on-one competition. This week on Raw, their partners at WrestleMania will go at it. Will Gail Kim be the diva to stop the seemingly unstoppable Glamazon?Tune into Raw on the USA Network at 9 PM for all this and so much more!!

Smackdown was cool. Glad Helms is in the MITB. Like what your doing with the MITB guys there with Shelton/Rhodes/MVP. Good main event, it probably would've been better for someone other than Edge to get the pin though, to give the other guy more momentum. Nice job.

March 16th, 2009 Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kansas Attendance: 12,567
Raw opens tonight with its usual video package, this week highlighting last week’s main event of Randy Orton and Chris Jericho. It ends by showing John Cena stand tall over his three opponents.
Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole welcome us to Raw in Kansas and hype up tonight’s major main event of Batista and John Cena! They also remind us that Randy Orton and Chris Jericho are in the building tonight and we will a small preview of the Money in the Bank when Rey Mysterio takes on The Brian Kendrick!
JBL’s theme music hits to kick off the show as he makes his way to the ring. He gets in and grabs a microphone. He hypes up his big match at WrestleMania with Shawn Michaels. He says that he’s going to end the career of “Mr. WrestleMania” at WrestleMania. He promises to do so. Over the last few weeks, he’s put Michaels in some tough matches, but he gave him the night off tonight. He did that because the man he wants Michaels to face next is already booked tonight. So next week, Michaels will be facing the man he’s seemingly found a friend in the past few weeks. Next week, he’ll be taking on CM Punk! At this, CM Punk’s theme music hits as the Intercontinental Champion makes his way to the ring for his match and he stares down JBL as they pass each other up the ramp.
Commercial Break.
Non-Title Match Intercontinental Champion CM Punk vs. Kofi Kingston
This turned out to be a great back and forth contest between two very good friends. It was competitive throughout and both men showed great respect for each other. Kofi looked very impressive as he took it to the champion and hit him with some fast paced, high flying moves. Punk managed to slow him down with some mat based work. The finish came when Kofi leapt from the floor to the top of Punk’s shoulders while Punk was in the corner. Kofi delivered a few punches from there, but Punk walked forward and dropped him face first onto the turnbuckle. At this point, Paul Burchill ran down to the ring. CM Punk charged him but Burchill tossed him mover with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex.
Winner by DQ: CM Punk (8:17) ***
Burchill went after Kofi as well, but Kofi managed to fight him off until Burchill caught him in the C4. He turned to Punk, who was now up, and Punk hit him with a flurry of kicks, chops and slaps and he ended it with a big superkick that sent Burchill to the outside. Burchill retreated up the ramp while Punk checked on Kofi.
Commercial Break.
We return to see the World Tag Team Champions, John Morrison and The Miz making their way to the ring to do commentary for the upcoming match.
Tag Team Match Cryme Tyme vs. The Second City Saints
These are two teams who have been a thorn in the side of the Tag Champs over the past few months. The Saints showed that they are the better team as they used crisp double team moves and are just better wrestlers. They had control throughout as Cryme Tyme has seemingly fallen out of favor with creative and the Saints ended it when JTG tapped to the Chicago Crab.
Winners: The Second City Saints (5:00) **
The Saints had a stare down with Miz & Morrison as we cut to the back where Chris Jericho gets interviewed. He talks about how if it wasn’t for Batista last week, he would’ve beaten Randy Orton, just like he beat Cena a few weeks back, and he would’ve gone on to prove once again that he is the best wrestler in the world. He hypes up the WrestleMania main event as we cut to commercial.
Commercial Break.
Singles Match Rey Mysterio vs. The Brian Kendrick w/ Ezekiel Jackson
Match of the night and it continued to show that this year’s Money in the Bank should be great. Mysterio held the early advantage as he was seemingly schooling the brash youngster. Kendrick fought his way back to getting the upper hand after Big Zeke laid out Mysterio on the outside. Kendrick got ready to hit The Kendrick a few minutes later, but Mysterio pushed him sternum first into the turnbuckle. Ezekiel attempted to get involved again, but Mysterio’s good friend and fellow Money in the Bank participant, Evan Bourne ran down and began to fight with the big man. With Ezekiel distracted, Mysterio nailed Kendrick with the 619.
Winner: Rey Mysterio (8:54) ***½
Bourne and Mysterio left the ring celebrating, while Kendrick and Ezekiel looked on pissed off.
Commercial Break.
When we return from commercial, we see The Brian Kendrick and Ezekiel Jackson backstage. Todd Grisham catches up to them and Kendrick challenges Bourne and Msyterio to a tag team match tomorrow night on ECW against himself and Ezekiel.
We are then shown the announcement of our next Hall of Fame inductee. It’s none other than Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. He will be inducted by the man he had many classic battles with, Ric Flair! This is followed up by the announcement of our next celebrity to join us at WrestleMania. We will be given a live performance by Rev Theory as they will perform Randy Orton’s theme music during the World Heavyweight Title match.
Commercial Break.
Non-Title Match Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix w/ Divas Champion Natalya & Santino Marella vs. Gail Kim w/ Melina
This lived up to the hype as two of the best women in the industry went head to head and delivered big time. They traded fists to begin the match and then each hit their signature spots. Kim even managed to nail Natalya with a plancha to the outside. The few Natalya or Santino did try to get involved, Melina would stop them. The finish came while Natalya & Melina were brawling outside and Santino attempted to trip up Kim, but he caught Beth instead. Beth began to argue with him and she turned around as Kim flew off the top and caught her with a hurricanrana pin to secure a victory over the Women’s Champion.
Winner: Gail Kim (6:11) **¾
We cut backstage where we see Legacy walking towards the ring area, which surprises most because our main event is also next.
Commercial Break.
Randy Orton’s theme music hits as he comes to the ring with Manu and Cody Rhodes. He gets on the microphone and says that it’s a disgrace that the McMahons couldn’t find a place for him on tonight’s show. He said that since neither Stephanie nor Vince is actually here tonight, Legacy will take a ringside seat and keep their eye on this match.
Non-Title Match Batista vs. World Heavyweight Champion John Cena
Not as good as their SummerSlam encounter but it was still fairly good. Both men seemed to be keeping an eye on Orton on the outside. Cena worked Batista over with some rest holds but Batista fought out of it and hit some big offensive moves. After some back and forth action, Batista dropped Cena with a spinebuster yet only got a two count, to the crowd’s surprise. Batista waited for Cena to get up and went for a Spear, but Cena ducked down, picked him up on his shoulders and dropped him with the FU. He covered but to more surprise, Batista kicked out. Orton was his “Viper” like self as he rolled into the ring, while Rhodes and Manu took out the referee. Orton nailed Cena with a chair and then laid out Batista when he got up.
No Contest (10:14) **¾
Orton set up to punt either Cena or Batista, whichever one managed to get up first but Chris Jericho ran down with a chair in hand. He knocked out Rhodes and Manu but Orton caught him with a low blow and drilled him in the face with the chair. Orton slowly walked up the ramp leaving everybody down in the ring, including his Legacy partners.
