Here are some more of my old school customs. I don't recall anyone doing customs of these guys, as most of them are legends from the 70's. So here you go!
FYI, these customs were done based on video footage. The pictures were not used as references, so the figs will not match them exactly. Also, painting is not my forte. There may be some smudges on the figs based on storage issues.
"Moondog" Lonnie Mayne
A legend in Portland wrestling, he has the reputation of being one of the craziest men in wrestling history, in and out of the ring. A bumptaking maniac, he was the Mick Foley of his day. He died in a car crash in 1978.
"Fabulous One" Jackie Fargo
Jerry Lawler's mentor, he was the biggest hero in Memphis during the 70's. Originator of the "Fargo Strut", which was copied by Jeff Jarrett, the Fabulous Ones, and Ric Flair. The marks on his chest are his bluebird tats, not unusally dark nipples...
"Crazy" Luke Graham
In storyline, he was the unstable brother of Superstar Graham. Another madman in and out of the ring, he held the WWA World Title and WWWF US Tag Title.
"King" Curtis Iaukea
This insane heel from Hawaii was in a legendary, bloody feud with Dusty Rhodes in 1976. He later worked as the Wizard in the WWF and was the "father" of the Dungeon of Doom in WCW.
Buddy Colt
One of the greatest heels in Florida wrestling history, Colt is largely forgotten. He had great feuds with Jack Brisco, Bill Watts, and Dusty Rhodes. He was in a plane crash in 1975, which resulted in career ending injuries. He was later a commentator with Gordon Solie for Championship Wrestling from Florida.
"King" Bobby Shane
Shane was also in the planecrash which ended Colt's life, however he wasn't so lucky. Shane's life ended that day, depriving wrestling of one of its brightest stars. Many agree Shane would have been Ric Flair before Ric Flair. He was a classic arrogant heel and played his regal role to its fullest. Jerry Lawler got permission from Shane to call himself the King.
More old school customs from yours truly....
"Bullet" Bob and Brad Armstrong
"Doctor Death" Steve Williams
the Rock and Roll Express
"The Rock" Ole Anderson
the Great Kabuki
Masked Superstar
the Missing Link
Enjoy!
