Sports Celebrated is back with an in depth look at the newly appointed commissioner of Genext, Pete Gruner, formerly known as Billy Kidman.


SC: First of all, congratulations on your new position.

Gruner: Thank You. It's an honor.




SC: How did this change from wrestler to commish come about?

Gruner: Well, as most people know, I was pretty much fed up with the politics of wrestling. Not just here but over a period of time throughout my career. I sat down and talked to Ric Falir about my frustrations, the direction of the brand, etc, prior to leaving the company as Billy Kidman. After a lengthy and very therapeutic conversation, Mr. Flair and I came to an agreement on where things needed to go pertaining to me and the brand. After that, the decision was made.



SC: So what's your vision for Genext?

Gruner: Progression in all phases. Production, presentation, talent, all of it. Now, I understand that alot of the decisions that are gonna be made may not be popular but, I want to always keep the product fresh and different, upholding the foundation of our philosophy.




SC: Do you have any plans to return to in ring wrestling?

Gruner: Well, ya just never know in this business. Right now, I'm satisfied and looking forward to taking on this administrative role.




SC: Are there any plans for new titles?:

Gruner: It's been discussed. It's certainly a part of our progressive thinking strategy. Stay Tuned(LOL)




SC: You have an ongoing history with the members of TM PRIDE. How does that play into your new role?

Gruner: They're a great group of athletes and an asset to the roster. But, like everyone else, they're gonna have to learn to toe the line cause there's a new sheriff in town.




SC: Figamania is on the horizon and we haven't heard an announcement yet from Genext. What gives?

Gruner: Patience my friend. We'll be there. And we're gonna do everything in our power to steal the show.




SC: Well Mr. Gruner, it's been great to have your insight. Thanks for joining us and hopefully we'll see some Genext action soon.
