is it just me or are DQs given for the crappest reasons these days? i remember years back when refs would give wrestlers a lot of leeway, but now it seems even the slightest of interference will be automatically ending the match. however, the Khali/ Jeff Hardy match completely contradicts this. MVP runs out, but apparently, because Jeff hit MVP first, MVP can't cause a DQ by hitting Jeff. Yes, this is the same week that Bam Neely gets Chavo DQ'ed for holding his foot on the rope. It is also within the same month in which JBL gets his tag team DQ'ed, for breaking up a submission which could have made his team lose. I'm at a loss to explain that one. fair enough, it's all scripted, but it annoys me to see DQs given for awful reasons, and then not given when it's obvious from a booking standpoint to give one. -end rant thoughts?

Usually it's any seen (by the referee) low blows, interference, weapon use, or not breaking a hold or backing away by the count of 5.

I've actually been noticing these obscene DQ's and i think it's ridiculous. How hard is it to have JBL use a chair, or Bam Neely push the other guy of the top rope or something. Why reach thst far. All this does is cause confusion when it happens again and no one get DQ'd. Then i have to hear my gf's little brother ask me question after question after question becasue WWE keeps changing thier rules to often for them to be explained. Sorry for the mini rant but it ticks me off. A dq is usually called from count out, outside guys, foriegn objects, failure to comply with ref( 5 count, choking, ect.) Low blows.

You are noticing a trend, its just a matter of convenience really. Pretty inconsistent.

DQs are all based on "the discretion of the official."
Undertaker's match at Wrestlemania 19 comes to mind.

Or the Infamous "Dusty Finish" in NWA where a ref would get knocked out, someone would throw the other guy over the top rope (a DQ in NWA) then the action would pick back up and a new ref would count the 3 and give the title to a new champion only to have the old ref come back in and reverse the decision because he saw the Over the top rope DQ...those were always my fav

The DQ rule depends on what the WWE writing staff thinks it means that week.

This has me thinking of one of the early episodes of ECW on Sci-Fi where Sabu got DQed for putting the other guy threw a table. Me and my friend were all "What the !? This is suppost to be ECW!". This was right before they started with the whole "Extreme Rules/Not Extreme Rules" b.s.

It always changes. I mean the constants are if someone is caught giving a low blow, weapon shot or hits a ref ... usually that has always been a DQ. But lately people get DQed for holding the tights while pinning and breaking up pins in tag team matches which ... never used to constitute a DQ. Whatevers conveniant to make the outcome of the match.

The DQ rule depends on what the WWE writing staff thinks it means that week. And look at how much of a failure WWE is going through because of these "Writers".

A DQ is whatever they decide is "illegal" for any particular match. Sounds basic but its true. And I hate that they do that. I hate the thought of "oh thats illegal DQ" in this match. Then in another its "let them at it". Its flat out stupid I really don't know whats legal and not anymore.
