Main event/Kane heel turn did the ratings good. Not Punk facing Snitsky... It's traditional for promoters to attribute ratings to the champion, regardless of what's on. Besides, every quarter hour featured a recap of Punk's title win. |

Nah but still, when Raw has a star studded main event like that and a heel turn awaiting to happen for a long time, ratings obviously will boost. All Punk did worthwhile was face Snitsky in a match nobody could give 2 craps about. |

Let's see. Improved ratings, good crowd response, a solid promo to kickoff RAW...yup, all signs that Punk should keep the title. Which means Batista is leaving the Great American Bash with new World Champion, knowing the WWE.

The kane heel turn has nothing to do witht he ratings because that was the last thing on raw and its not like fans knew a week ahead of time that kane was even gonna turn heel. Cm punk=ratings. I dont like the guy but thats all that it comes down to. The main event on the other hand is what probably got the viewers to stay watching raw but punk was the guy who got everyone to watch the show to begin with. |

It was a crappy RAW but at least it looks like CM Punk will be retaining at the Great American Bash. I can't beleive someone hasnt mentioned this but.... it wasnt a crappy RAW. It was a poopy RAW. But yeah, it was pretty bad but I guess a bunch of people wanted to see Punk and what was up. |

 Kanes heel turn. All he did was yell "Is he dead or alive?" and beat the crap out of people no one cares about in the first place. Exciting crap I know. Im willing to bet most people tuned in to see Punks first RAW as champion over Kane trying to rape Cole. |

Raw wasn't bad...when it was actually on. There were so many commercial breaks and recaps.

It was a pretty good RAW if only there wern't so many freaking commericals, it seems like the average time for a commercial is every 5-10 minutes with two in the main event!!!!! |

Havent the ratings been around the same (low to mid 3s) since the Draft??? I dont think you can say it is or isnt Punk...I think its just a norm for WWE right now

why does everyone act like this week's Raw was crappy? I though it was good. The 4-way was good, Punk got a good win under his belt beating Snitzky clean, and they left us all scratching or heads again with the Kane "is he dead or alive" stuff.
