Wow WWE screwed up, how they should've booked

Following the draft and the last few weeks of WWE I am just at a loss of words for how the writers have really messed up and turned what was one of the most entertaining years of wrestling (late 07-mania of 08) to a load of crap. As some of you may or not know, I only watch Raw. Its WWE's flgship show and ECW/SD! air at inconvienent times for me. The following are my opinions how WWE should've booked/should book the last few/next few weeks/months so that they could've prevented the disaster that Raw was tonight and is inevitable headed for (this seems like its going to like 2005 post summerslam).
So let's get started.

1. I was really annoyed with HHH winning at Backlash. They should've had him win at mania or a few months down the road. so heres what I say happens.
-Orton wins at Mania
-JBL vs Orton at Backlash (Cena takes time off to film his movie, since the JBL/Cena feud around this time was awful). Orton retains via DQ or anything
-Y2J wins a gold rush tournament to face Orton at Judgement Day. HBK screws Y2J out of the title (this will be talked about more directly after this)
-HHH beats Orton at ONS. Regardless of if Orton gets hurt in the match or not, this makes sense. We'll say Orton gets hurt anyways, perfect...he drops the belt without looking weak.


2. Next, what is really annoying me a lot is the complexity and unecessaryness of this Y2J/HBK storyline. If you watched tonight everything Y2J said is something a face would say, and eveyrthing HBK said (including his expressions and tone) were PURE heel. So going all the way back to WM 24...turn HBK heels was flair. That was the perfect oppurtunity for HBK to get serious heat. We still do hbk/batista...you can have HBK do the same antics and just when everyone is starting to have comapssion for him you have him do the "i tricked all of ya"...BAM! more heat.

Next, we have Lance Cade become HBK's onscreen protege, it makes a lot of sense. As I mentioned previously, HBK screws Y2J...makes sense for their feud. We've already seen Y2J as the heel...lets see the roles reversed. Cade beats Y2J for the IC title...and gets pushed as he should. Plus having HBK as a heel opens up tons more feuds for the future.

3. RAW's gm situation. Do whatever you want with the regal stuff. The following week have Vince hold a battle royal for the new GM. Have Santino win. The guy is incredible on the Mic. He is nothing special in the ring, but having him as a weekly onscreen personality is awesome.

4. Draft related issues.

-CM Punk goes to SD! and does the same stuff he is doing on Raw. It just doesn't feel quite right on raw. Plus he hasn't had his big feud with La Famillia yet. This then gives guys like Jeff Hardy, Shelton, Carlito, and Kennedy a chance to achieve above the mid-card. I read somewhere that Kennedy isn't getting any push on Smackdown despite his move from Raw.

-Hardcore Holly gets drafted to ECW or SD!. Then when Cody explains why he turned on Holly he says that he did it because he wanted to keep his championship and didn't want his partner splitting his time and not being there for him.

-Cena goes to SD!

-Jeff Hardy goes to ECW! where he can become a legit title contender in the same fashion as Kane, Morrison, Punk, etc.

-Matt Hardy stays on SD!, thus not screwing up SD!'s mid-card title picture.

-Miz/Morrison go to SD!, and take the tag titles with them.

-Kofi Kingston stays on ECW. Im sorry but this guy isn't ready for the main show(s) yet

-Kendrick stays on Raw with london and they feud with Dibiase/cody.


This is how I would then book Summerslam.

1. Cena/HHH goes the same way. HHH faces JBL at the GAB. Then Batista at Summerslam. Orton returns and interfers at SS.

2. Punk stuff is the same just on SD!, and with Edge. Wedding is postponned until Edge wins his title back. Punk faces Edge at the GAB and wins. Vickie brings back taker for finding out Edge used her.
we then see
-Punk vs Cena vs Umaga vs Big Show
3. -Edge vs Taker (gimmick match if you please)

4. Jeff Hardy vs Mark Henry for the ECW title
5. Y2J Vs HBk in a ladder match
6. Rey vs Cade vs JBL for the IC title
7. Too early to see where the Kane storyline is going, but we'll say he has a match
8. Winner take all titles match: Matt Hardy (US) + Kennedy/MVP vs Carlito+ Miz/Morrison



These changes make Raw much more entertaining, and allow it to get shuffled and shaken up without it becoming the amaterur hour it was tonight. This also allows SD! and ECW to become really good shows.

I agree with some of yours ideas in terms of show organization (like keeping the US title on Smackdown and moving the tag champs to Smackdown), and I also think the HBK-Jericho thing makes sense. I'd really like to see HBK do something other than the, "I'm a legend in the business so everyone loves me and I can't be a true heel" thing. It would be refreshing to see him as the heel and Jericho as the face. On the other hand, I think Jericho is a better heel than he is face, so maybe it's best that it stays as is. In terms of moving talent, though, I think they're doing a good job so far. I love CM Punk on Raw, and I think the TV has been really fun recently. Hopefully they can keep this up and develop some of the guys that were moved around.

It's what, two weeks after the draft and you're saying it was terrible? Why don't you give it time to progress and see what happens?

I would agree with the develop part but other than divas the only guys who appear weekly on Raw are Cena, Cryme Tyme, Punk, JBL, Batista, Kane, Y2J, and Kofi. I would've liked to have seen cryme tyme actually wrestle, and to have seen dibiase/cody.

I like how you kept the US and tag titles on SD where they BELONG!

HBK needs to turn heel and he should have.. but I guess he does not want to be remembered like that because he might retire some time down the road..

Honestly, I used to not watch Raw in it's entirety, but it's been so much better without HHH and I can actually watch it now.
