Well, let's start shall we.
CM Punk is over. No denying that. So, why is it, when people really begin to get behind Punk after his big title win, that's its classed as "jumping on the bandwagon". Despite most of the Punk fans on WF being a fan of his since ROH, they are classed as bandwagon jumpers. These people have been rooting for Punk since ROH, since OVW, since ECW. But just because Punk won the title, all Punk fans are now on his "bandwagon". Bullcrap. I myself, am not really a big fan of Punk. I'm happy for him that he's won the title on the A-show, and I wish him nothing but the best. Which brings me to my next point. If you DON'T like Punk, you are made to feel like you should. And that if you don't, you've turned on Punk. Like you were his biggest fan at some point. And then suddenly, you're not. So, despite the fact you didn't like him in the first place, you've turned on him? I can't remember who accused me of it, but last week when I said I didn't like Punk, someone said that he remembers me being a fan of his (which i've never been), and now I've turned on him. Seriously. What is WF coming to? Now you might be thinking, "Welcome to the Internet bub, that's how it goes down." Well it shouldn't. It shouldn't be like that. It seems as though your damned if you do, and damned if you don't. And although, nothing is probably gonna change, and this is probably gonna get locked, and told to be posted in the Punk thread, it's the truth. People should be able to like who they want, from whenever they want, and not be accused of a bandwagoner or a hater. Eddie Guerrero is a classic example. After he died, everyone was accused of bandwagoning, just because they had sigs honoring Eddie. Just because people want to honor someone, doesn't mean they are trying to be the biggest fan of them. I, personally, have been an Eddie fan since 2000 (I didn't really watch WCW until shortly before it's closure.)
My point is, this isn't just about CM Punk or Eddie Guerrero. It's about being a fan in general. You should be able to like whoever the damn well you want. And I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit here, and let someone tell me, I'm a bandwagoner, just for liking someone.
There. There's my mini-rant. If you take a look at it, please tell me what you feel.
