Michael Cole's goofy, cartoonish delivery was much more suited for SmackDown, in my personal opinion. He isn't a terrible commentator, but I think his presence in the place of a legend like Ross definitely makes the show feel less like the top show. Vince consistently pisses on JR, even dating back to the 1990s when he was fired and mocked for developing bell's palsy. I will agree that JR reacted to the news in a somewhat unprofessional manner, but seriously, the guy has been removed from Raw so much that it had to be both a shock and a disappointment for it to happen once again. I'm curious as to why everyone seems to hate JR on such a personal level when he's never done anything to any of you. Yes, his commentary has gotten progressively worse over the years, but the guy has worked hard to get where he's at, shouldn't he be rewarded for his time put in? It's not that big of a deal that he was drafted, but at least he could have stayed and Foley could have been switched with Lawler. What the has Jerry Lawler done recently? His best years in commentary were as the heel color commentator during the mid-to-late 90s and even when he was all excited about women's breasts, at least it was somewhat entertaining. I would argue that Lawler is the lesser of the two and the one who needs a new environment and a resurgence in his career, not JR. Half these kids don't have a career, so they couldn't possibly relate to JR on any level. Just let them be ignorant jackassess

The guy is made for the rest of his life. He should quit being greedy... gracefully step down and let someone else have a chance. One doesn't have to be in his position to understand the fundamentals of his situation.

If it was about the money do you think he would be bitching? He's been loyal through out WWE, I think he deserves to express his feelings in any manner.
You and everyone else calling him a bitch and prick obviously don't understand the situation if you're just saying "go to smackdown" Likes like telling a guy who has been on raw since 1997 to go to ECW...Whats the point?

Vince McMahon makes these people rich beyond their wildest dreams when they would otherwise be poor if they had to do "real jobs". They really have no right to complain.
I'd love to know where people came up with this crazy idea that EMPLOYEES have the right to tell the BOSS they don't want to do what he tells them to do.
Any other job, the boss tells you to do something, you either do it or you're fired. It's very simple. McMahon is the boss, he can tell anybody in the WWE to do whatever job he wants them to do. They don't like it? TOUGH SH*T! QUIT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!!!

JR isn't all BBQ Sauce and Oklahoma love, he can be very hypocritical and two-faced. It has shown throughout the years that he has an indifferent opinion of himself, and he pretty much deserves whatever he gets.

Cole is nice and all, but really his voice is what makes SmackDown. JR, sadly, is the posterboy for RAW, and will certainly be going back soon.

I think Vince made that to make the fans think anyone can change brand.

Yeah, it makes it a lot less predictable to say that much.

I'm glad they took him off Raw. Now if they could take him off of all the shows. His reaction to Jericho and Hardy coming back was terrible, along with Lawler's. Maybe they needed the switch. It got annoying, like they had a who cares attitude while announcing. Everyone talks about how much Cole sucks, but I think he's a great announcer. He could've made Jericho and Hardy's returns really exciting.

As much as I absolutely love JR, when was the last time you heard his voice completely go, and 'For the Love of Bah God Almighty, I cannot believe this'. His voice used to create moments and make them extra special, but it just doesn't happen anymore.

Can we get back to the point for a minute? It's not about what brand JR would be better on.... the issue is - does Vince McMahon get off on messing with JR? And the answer is "YES" and I believe its because he is jealous that he could not accomplish what JR did as far as announcing goes. Aside from that, JR going to Smackdown! does not make sense for the business - and I just feel like Triple H being the only one who knew he was moving brands is absolute crap. JR is one of the most influential people in the company and deserved the respect of knowing he was being shipped.

They don't like it? TOUGH SH*T! QUIT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!!! First of all, Wrestling doesn't make people as rich as one might think. He may be making a couple hundred thousand a year, but he also has to pay for his own transportation from city to city via plane as well as rental cars. Add that up in a year where they travel to a MINIMUM 52 cities a year (just for RAW broadcasts alone). Once you add up transportation, a salary of a couple hundred thousand a year doesn't make you as "secure" as you'd think. Secondly, JR is no longer in an office position. When he was, he was a salaried EMPLOYEE of WWE. once he became just talent, he became an independent contractor just like the rest of the boys. When you're an independent contractor, then yes, you can tell your "client" what you will and won't do. Vince is JR's client. Ask Vinnie to supply health insurance and do the taxes for everyone on the roster and he'll quickly tell you no because his roster are not employees, just independent contractors. Therefore, since Vince likes the term independent contractor, then that means he is a client of JR's services. Let me put it in a manner you can relate to. You need your porch fixed. You find several contractors that can do the work that you want. You hire a contractor to do the work and he comes out and tells you what he will and won't do for the amount of money the job costs. He is providing a service for you and you are his customer. That is what an independent contractor is. Someone who provides his services for a fee. Vince wanted JR's commentating services. JR told him how much it would cost Vince to have him call RAW every week. Vince agreed and RAW was the show JR agreed to provide his services to. Now that Vince has changed the terms of their arrangement, JR could legally quit and Vince couldn't punish him for it. JR agreed to provide services for RAW. Over the years, he's been very vocal and public about not wanting to change his lifestyle and his work schedule to tape Smackdown. Why is everyone so "shocked" that he is upset about the situation? Vince is a client, not the boss. If you work in Stamford in WWE Headquarters, then Vince is your boss. As independent contractors, Vince is only a client paying for services rendered.

I am definitely happy with almost all of the drafts. I've always preferred SD! to RAW most of the time and I thought JR to SD! was a fresh twist on things. But after his reaction I lost a lot of respect for JR. His reaction and comments made SD! look so inferior, like a teacher assigning you to work with a group of idiots instead of the cool kids. JR's comments were unprofessional and childish.
But honestly, JR isn't that great of an announcer anymore. He and Lawler are staler then a two week old loaf of bread left on the counter.

Maybe if JR wasn't such a prick, he would be treated better. Besides, it's his ing job to commentate, regardless of what show. Just do your damn job and don't sit there and sulk. I'll bet anything JR quits very soon or bitches his way back to Raw because he always has to have his way. Thats the way i feel on this..It doesnt matter what show your on..Just do your damn job..

His voice used to create moments and make them extra special, but it just doesn't happen anymore. He only breaks those out when Austin shows up and stuns people twice a year. His reaction to Austin giving Santino a beer bath was the most excited JR has gotten in years...and this is coming from someone who is one of the biggest Stone Cold fans ever.

When I heard today that he was close to quitting because he got moved to SD, it didn't surprise me at all. I would prefer that he quit so I never have to hear his annoying voice again.
