3 Hour Special: The Draft
Hey guys, I thought i would report along with Raw and just give my thoughts and opinions during the show, and i will post at the end. If its worthwhile and you enjoy reading and responding, then i may make it a weekly thing.
The Draft
I'm pretty happy with the Draft, i like how Rey is on Raw, but i really did not want CM Punk on Raw, the main reason was because he still has Money In The Bank, and i really don't want him to cash it in or get a push to the WWE Championship. I also like how Jeff has gone to Smackdown, because i never really liked him on Raw and i think i would prefer him to be pushed on Smackdown rather than Raw. I think it was a good idea to put Matt on ECW because this gives ECW another championship so hopefully this will help ECW grow more. I'm glad Batista has gone to Raw, in my other post a day or two ago, i said i hope he goes to Raw as i think he should build a new character and progress on Raw. Umaga going to Smackdown was great, only because i really want him off Raw, but at least he can join Jeff and face him for the 300th time, so he will feel right at home. I'm very shocked at Kane being drafted, doesn't really make sense as he was moved to ECW and won the ECW championship. But it will be interesting to see what happens with the ECW championship now. I think Raw got the best drafts of the night, followed by Smackdown, and i don't know what to say about ECW, they were pretty much screwed of the best wrestlers they had with no major ones in return. I was shocked to see Triple H and Kennedy to go to Smackdown. Especially Triple H, This must mean that Batista will win the World Heavyweight Championship off Edge and bring it to Raw, which i would love as i really love the World Heavyweight Championship, which is why i have my own replica
Announcers
I really think that was a really good idea, because it does get very boring and repetitive to hear the same people talking about the same thing every week. So although i know some people may be unhappy about the decision, personally i think its a very necessary good decision by the WWE. However, i do think it should of been King and Foley to swap but I'm not unhappy about it non the less.
Wrestling
The show has been very good, some very good matches we have not seen for a while like Cena Vs Edge. The womens match was a bit strange and the outcome was confusing and did not make a lot of sense. But i think the main thing about this Raw is the draft, and i think most of the people are just wanting to see who is drafted. The Clothesline From Hell JBL did to Kofi was probably the best I've seen ever, it was amazing and well sold by Kofi. The big battle royal was awesome, i thought it would be packed full of no bodies so it was good to see all top stars in it. I'm not sure if the double spear by Batista and Edge was supposed to happen and Batista looked pretty bad after it. Normally when a wrestler bleeds, they fall down on their front and cover their face to blade, and because Batista didn't do that, i think that the bleeding was accidental, and looks like he needs some stitches.
Million Dollar Contest
This week the winners did not sound over joyed as last week, but i loved the Great Khali being involved in it. I was honestly in tears from the start, when Khali was speaking Punjabi while Vince was mocking him. But when Khali just kept randomly shouting at the phone i was in tears! and Vince's face too when he was doing it was priceless. This kind of shows that if Khali is used right, he can actually get some good reactions. That was by far the best bit of the Contest so far over the last couple of weeks, and i also think its my favorite moment of Khali's WWE career.
Other
The only thing i think WWE should of done was make a mini draft for announcers and referees. Because it would just make it more fresh and see the Refs on different shows which hasn't been done for a long long time. Although some new Ref debuted for the MVP Vs Dreamer match.
Ending
The Vince thing at the end first shocked me and i thought a random piece of equipment had just fallen down, but then when the wrestlers ran up and stuff it was obvious its some kind of storyline. Its quite strange because he was calling Triple H 'Paul' (Triple H's real name) So i don't know where this is going, but it should be interesting anyway and its probably a way to get viewers to tune in next week to see what happened. It was good anyway, it shocked me at first and i even believed it for part of it!
Conclusion
An excellent show, one of the best Raw's best shows in a while, and i bet the ratings are high this week. I know some people might be annoyed about some of the outcomes of the draft, but i think the WWE have done this draft very well and its going to 'shake things up' perfectly.
