I was just reading through my WWE trivia book when I came upon the following info:
The highest rated match in the history of WWE RAW was from May 10, 1999 with the match -- Steve Austin, The Rock & Vince McMahon vs. The Undertaker, Triple H & Shane McMahon with Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee. This RAW holds the largest rating in RAW history.
Also, the segment entitled "This is Your Life" with The Rock & Mick Foley pulled in a rating of 8.4.
Do you see the WWE ever pulling ratings like this again?

No, they will never reach that kind of success ever again, especially with todays crappy product.

Yeah, of course. WWE, and wrestling in general is just not at its best these days.

There is always a chance in the future that WWE may reach 5.0, but they will never, ever reach an 8.4 rating for a segment or full show ever again.

Damn, 8.4 for that segmant. Holy crap. Is that the highest rating segmant/show the 'E or any other wrestling promotion has ever had?

Damn, 8.4 for that segmant. Holy ****. Is that the highest rating segmant/show the 'E or any other wrestling promotion has ever had? Well, yes considering that RAW has been on the air for over 15 years and the only other wrestling program that came close was Nitro.

As long as Cena is in the main event, they've got no chance....no chance in hell.

It's not out of the question. If the company had someone to really catch fire with the audience ala The Rock or Stone Cold. If the "creative" staff booked that character smartly, planning ahead and not rushing the them along. If that character were able to appeal to people who do not typically watch wrestling.
So, while it's quite improbable, it isn't impossible.

With Triple H as champion? I don't think so.
I'm pretty sure if Flair got the title one last time before retiring, or WWE.com announcing The Rock returning, the ratings would have boosted up.
