As most of you know, many years ago, Shawn Michaels got into a scuffle at a Syracuse Night Club while in town for the first WWF: In Your House; Pay Per View.
Anyways, that was May 12, 1995. A solid 13 years ago. I bring this up as I believe this was the last WWE televised event, in my fair city of Syracuse, New York.
But here's where you guys come in. Whether it was a Raw televised after the IYH, another PPV, Raw or Smackdown. Has there been a televised event in Syracuse since 1995? Excluding WCW Thunder.

Wasn't there a RAW Syracuse in 1996 or early 1997? I swear it had the Bret/Sid cage match where Bret flipped out after it. If it wasn't, Thunder is the only one I can think of that was televised.

I don't know on the cage match you mentioned, the sites with Raw results archived that far back tend to not include location. I'd love to know that HBK's scuffle didn't eliminate almost a decade and a half of possible televised events. Grant it, the War Memorial probably holds 5,000 and The Dome isn't hold wrestling events anytime soon... So WWE may not book a TV event due to low drawing powers.

Yeah, I think that's the only reason they don't do tv is because they can't get into the Dome. I've heard that house shows draw well over here though.

Is their a certain reason why no wrestling events happen at the Dome? I would think the WWE would do a PPV there, maybe Survivor Series or Summerslam.

They rarely come to Syracuse anymore. Mostly go to Albany (Pepsi Arena)

The Dome is suppose to be for non-profit events or some thing, Hero probably could better explain the outlying reason. I think at one point WWE had strong interest, but the people they worked with chose to give WWE a hard time.

But I can't remember any televised events since that one mentioned. I went to a Smackdown taping in Rochester, and that's the closest they've come.

I to went to a house show during the Invasion angle. I freakin' loved it. That was back when Mark Jindrak lived in Auburn. The house show I went to in May of last year, that was pathetic in comparison to how house shows used to be.

Anyone know when they're rolling back around through the Syracuse area?
Any word of TNA coming again at a better location?

Anyone know when they're rolling back around through the Syracuse area? Any word of TNA coming again at a better location? WWE tends to make just one trip to Syracuse a year and they already were here in January so I think I'd expect a visit in '09. Though you never really know with the WWE, they almost did two shows in Syracuse last year. (January-08 was a rescheduled show originally set for August or September) As for TNA- I really liked having them at the Fair. I probably would go to another live event of theirs if it was at the NY State Fair again, and not the War Memorial. It just made the show more enjoyable, being able to chill and continue to hang out at the Fair afterward.

Yeah, WWE seems to be coming here more regularly now, once or twice a year like CBT said. They do pretty well in this area. I swear, if they could get into the Dome, we'd be having Raw or Smackdown here.
I went to a house show here in 1998 and had an incredible time. Seeing Rock, Austin, Foley, Taker, Kane, DX all live was awesome. I still remember the 2 main events: Taker vs. Kane and Bossman/Rock vs. Austin/Foley. But, I haven't gone to a house show since, because of the cards. Wasn't the last one headlined by Orton vs. Hardy??

Not quite sure on the last one, Hero, other than it being Raw.
I went to the Smackdown live event back in May of 07, and had it not been a chance to see guys I hadn't seen live, it was deplorable. 2 hours or less (invasion one was around 3 hours at least) and matches that just didn't do any thing for me albeit a good tag team main event of Edge & MVP vs Benoit & Batista (I think.)
Anyways, I don't know what it would take to get WWE at the Dome.. but it would definitely open up an avenue of televised events in the post-Attitude Era.

Yeah, the May 07 show was pretty horrendous. I didn't even think the tag match was all the great. Finlay stalled for seriously 15 minutes going after fans, while Kane just stood there in the corner like a statue. Chavo and Helms were DQ'd for both being in the ring at the same time. (Like that's ever happened before, right?) The RVD/Cor Von match wasn't terrible because they went into the crowd, and it was cool to see RVD as well as see him perform his spinning leg drop onto Cor Von on the barricade. To boot I had a very large black woman yelling next to me during the Punk/Dreamer vs Striker/Burke match. "Elijah! Give my daughter her beads back! Elijah! Elijah!" Ridiculous.
I went to the January Raw show, but in Utica not Syracuse. It was awesome, to be honest. As a huge Hardy fan it was cool to see him up close again, since its been a few years and I was pretty young when I first saw him in Syracuse. I got some great pictures, if you want me to post some let me know, and also got a high-five from The Game.
If WWE could get to the Dome for a televised show, I guarantee it'll be sold out in hours. People from all over Onondaga County, Oswego County, and Oneida County would come out to it, among the possibility of some NYC Fans. I don't know if WWE realizes how well they could do at the Dome.
I take back what I said about TNA being at a different location. I loved the Fair show. Honestly, one of my favorite wrestling shows I've been to. The only disappointment was the advertising of MCMG, and them not showing up. It was really neat how Joe signed autographs after his match. Wish I could have gotten up there. Did anyone stick around for the James Storm autograph signing? If so how did that go? One last note about TNA..Did anyone see the drunk guy messing around with the weak plastic barricade (slamming it down and picking it up) during the Miss Jackie/Traci Brooks match? Kind of comical, very annoying though.
