...haven't defended their belts ( on TV/PPV) since December 17th 2007. That is absolutely ridiculous. Has there ever been a champion/s that went so long without defending the title? Those belts are nothing but props on Holly & Rhodes.
Not to mention Carlito & Santino have been #1 Contenders for about 3 months and have yet to to get their title shot( and they're still mentioning the contendership, although I don't think they consider it the same one from February).
It's kind of funny how ever since the WWE Tag Titles were introduced in 2002, they've been treated a LOT better than the World Tag Titles, from the classics between Edge/Rey, Los Guerreros, & Benoit/Angle to WGTT to MNM to the Hooliganz to Miz/Morrison, who have done a great job as champs. I think the only time in the last 6 years the Raw Tag Titles were treated better was during the Hardyz' reign last year..
When you consider who the the World Tag Team champions are( a makeshift team that nobody cares about), who the #1 Contenders are( another makeshift team, albeit better), and how little action these belts see, this has to be the worst time in the belts' history.

I blame the brand extension for this. Before it happened, you at least had some teams that would compete and now they are few and far between. I'd rather they unite the tag titles and have one strong division instead of two weak ones.

Because Vince knows what we like, and we like seeing champions hold their titles for months on end, with the titles rarely being defended.

I remember Big Show when he was US Champion, he won the belt from Eddie in October and didn't defend it until March. Not a tag belt, but still that is a long ass time as well.

I know Jeff Hardy rarely defended his title and it looks like Jericho is following that same trend.
They are starting to put a little more effort into their tag division.....just a little, but it's down right absurd they haven't defended them, especially at a PPV, I can't even remember the last time tag belts of any kind were defended at a PPV.

I blame the brand extension for this. Before it happened, you at least had some teams that would compete and now they are few and far between. I'd rather they unite the tag titles and have one strong division instead of two weak ones. that can't happen . it is impossible. if they unite the tag titles like you want , how would they be able to defend them on 2 different houses on the same day at the same time? they wouldn't . that is why we don't need to unify any title at all . don't blame the brand extension. brand extension was & still is the best thing ever.

They don't need to be defended every single show. Have the champions work Smackdown house shows one week, then Raw shows the next. Or you could even do it by month, and include TV as well( only showing up on one show for a week/month). I'm pretty sure they defended them against Cade & Murdoch about a month ago. - Vertan I thought so too( the night Cade returned), but I checked WWE.com, and it was a non-title match. I also thought they defended the belts against Carlito & Santino a few months back, but it was also non-title.

I don't see the reason in having two sets of tag champs when you barely have enough tag teams on both shows. Just combine both tag titles and have it defended on both shows
