Believe it or not WWE has acually changed the numbers. I've heard from many people that flair is acually a 19 or 20 times champion. And that THE KING has won like 60-70 world titles.

I think they're only counting NWA, WCW and WWF.

I thought everyone knew this by now. WWE just decided to not count three of his title reigns, he is really a 19 - Time World Champ.

Wiki lists him as a x10 NWA Champ, x7 WCW Champ, and 2x WWF Champ.. so there's 19 there at least.

I believe it was the NWA, and not WWE, that chose not to recognize those reigns. Seeing as Ric was calling himself a 16-time Champion before he ever came to WWE in 2001, and he hasn't won a world title since.

There were some times where Flair would drop the title in another country only to win it back the next day or sometime before he would come back to the US. The NWA wouldn't mention it so the people here never knew about it.

I see 6 time NWA Champion with WCW, 1 time NWA Champion with the NWA, 7 time WCW Heavyweight Champion and 2 time WWF Champion. You shouldn't count the AJPW or the Central State Wrestling reigns because those were never recognized by the NWA.

Flair and Harley Race used to do back to back shows a lot where Flair would lose, or win the title, and than the next night, it would go back to the Champion. The NWA didn't often acknowledge this, therefor, Ric is probably somewhere between a 20 - 30 times World Champ. I don't think anyone would be able to know for sure, because this happened a lot from what I have heard. A lot over seas and stuff.

So WWE changed all the title histories so Flair had the number they want? Go look up the NWA, WCW and WWE World title histories and do the math.

It all comes down to the non mentioned title reigns. When Flair would go to Kansas City and drop the title to Race (his home town) only to have the title dropped back to Flair the next day in a place line Lincoln Nebraska
I dont think its fair to count Lawlers cause like it was said he ran USWA so he pretty much put the title on himself all the time. Much like Jarrett did in TNA

I think they're only counting NWA, WCW and WWF. Yeah, and that makes sense. And with The King, I think most would be the extremely small feds like the ones used for training and such.
